Check out a few things first. If it has Cantonese and English subs or is all region encoded, it's more than likely a bootleg. If it costs around $30-40 and says it's region 2, then chances are it's a legit Japanese disc. As far as I know, there aren't any legal English dubs out yet in the US, but I could be wrong. The biggest thing that says bootleg though just from what you've said is that if it isn't available in the US, then finding it on eBay with english dubs is a good sign it's a bottleg. Hope this helps. By the way, sorry but don't have any pics of the Japanese cover, but what I've said above should hopefully be enough to figure it out. Also if you post the address of the auction or even the item number, some of us could check it out and let you know.

EDIT: I guess I should have asked at the beginning but is it a DVD or VHS?

The Inuyasha legit Japanese DVDs tend to run 50 dollars and higher. Trust me, I know, I got the first movie on Japanese DVD for 70 dollars. Yep...I'm insane *ahem* But anyway, since the second movie won't be out for another month or more I'm assuming you're talking about the first movie. To make sure you get the legit its best to go to CD Japan:

That should take you to the first Inuyasha movie. If not just type 'Inuyasha' and search for stuff. That's where I pretty much get all my pre-orders and Inuyasha CDs. Great place and fast with shipping. Though unless you have some kind of DVD player that plays region 2 DVDs its really pointless to spend that much money on something you can't use. And the DVD does not come with English subtitles.
