I was watching this anime and the music in it realy cought my attention. I was woundering if someone knew the name of this sound track or were I could get ahold of it.
Also, I would love to see a sequle to this show. Even though I doubt it will happen, it would be nice if it did. |

OST 1: BECK.
OST 2: KEITH. I love the music. If you do too, I'd highly recommend you at least get the first OST. The second one pretty much has the same songs, but sung by different bands. It's alright... However, the first one has all the original versions, so it feels more authentic. |

I'm pretty sure the manga goes beyond the anime in terms of storyline however...I seriously don't think I could get into the manga after hearing the anime. So your choice.
I doubt the anime will get anymore though since a lot of them tend to end before the manga's ending or sometimes before the manga is even finished. There's always a very slight chance though. Look at Hellsing =P Ever since I saw the series people wanted more and everyone said it's kind of old and didn't do amazingly well so it wouldn't get one. However there will be a new Hellsing and while this isn't a "sequel" it's still more Hellsing. Don't hold your breath until a Beck sequel comes out as it's more than likely it will never get one, but it's not entirely impossible. |

The Hellsing manga's only going 10, so Ultimate will wrap up the entire story most likely. yeah the Beck manga goes WAY beyond the anime. it's at like volume 25 now. i'd recommend checking it out, it's a really fun read. |

Gah?! No Music?! Oh no, how will I ever enjoy Beck then? Would I actually have to use my...... imagination and creativity?! But the anime does that for me so I don't need to think!!! But seriously, it's their loss to whoever won't try out the manga because they can't fathom the thought of not hearing anything. The truth is, the manga is everything the anime was but more tighter and concise, and without the rediculous Engrish lines. |

Imagination and creativity? So if I had those in such abundance...why would I bother to read manga or watch anime?
Apparently, you don't care for music as much as I do. So I guess I need to be bashed huh? Thanks. Music makes up a large part of what I do. Whether playing or listening. The fact that a MUSIC series is dead silent is quite a concern for me. |

I don't know about that. The music pop/rock in Beck is kind of overrated if you listen to a lot of alternative/rock music. It just so happen that Beck is one of the few manga that focuses on rock music, which is "new" and "surprising" to many fans, even if it's generic in nature. It's kind of funny with fans that idolize anime- they swear that Jpop song are deep and meaningful while american pop song are cheesy and repetitive. In term of the Beck Anime in comparison to the manga, while the manga lack music, it does have better artwork. Last edited by darkhunter on Thu Feb 09, 2006 12:46 am; edited 7 times in total |

I was only making a slight jab at the people who shy away from the Beck manga due to no music, which is ironic because there would have never even been a Beck anime if the manga hadn't become so successful which *gasp* had no music. Part of the incredible appeal of the Beck manga is the mystique of the band when they're playing and the reader is supposed to get the feeling that Beck is a band that can change the world, or bring together an entire generation, like Nirvana did for a while. But what's special is that since the reader never hears what that sound from Beck is like, people create in their heads what they feel that earth-shattering music would be like, or what Koyuki's incredible voice would sound like, so in the end the manga appeals to everyone in a unique way which is one major sort of intimate difference from the anime. |

The story in the show is exclent I'm woundering what happens after they go to the states. They never realy say, in the anime, if the group ever makes it big or not. For all I know they do a few shows then drop off. How much farther dose then manga go then the anime or do they both end at the same spot?! |

I agree. When I first heard the soundtrack, it reminded me of how blown away I was when I first heard heard FLCL OST 1.
Great OSTs like those are what got me into my jrock habit... |

I also prefer BECK to KEITH. If you liked this, and FLCL1, I'd also reccomend FLCL3 - it's got the best Pillows songs from FLCL1, and more, plus the lyrics. And it's much easier to find than an actual Pillows CD on import.
