what would be the reason why they would cut out a scene like that? the only thing i can think of would be for artistic sake but their not the artist. hmm....

From the start I suspected that the Japanese themselves had edited that scene out. Why else did the preview of episode 21 have a Japanese audio track?

What I'm surprised about is that no one has yet mentioned the OTHER scene that was edited. At the start of episode 21, Sota and Kagome talk and Kagome mentions how Inuyasha had hugged her. Sota immediately believes that Inuyasha and Kagome had done more than just hug and ran away screaming.

I guess it's true: no one can screw it up more than the Japanese.

I know the thread is 9 year old, but one information is wrong:

Quote:
The scene in question was also missing from the Japanese DVD release of Inuyasha.

This is wrong, because the japanese Inuyasha DVDs has never get the splitted episodes and so they are completely uncut.

The DVD menu of the japanese DVD vol. 7:

In other countries like Italy, Germany (the Sub Release, Dub release have the cut episodes), Spain, Mexico, Portugal or Phillipines (Animax english dub) they get also the 1 hour tv special.

So VIZ is the only one, that licensed the cutted episodes for North America.

Thanks for the clarification. However, at 9 years old I think discussion regarding this news release is a bit past its expiration date.
