I have been anctously twitching for the past week. I think it's becoming a problem. I should see a medical professional about that.
Anyway, I am really excited about Big O having new episodes starting this sunday.... (twitch, twittch) AHHHHHHHHH (stabs self in leg) Big O is half the reason I have been awaiting august 8th (the release date of Super Robot Wars D in japan)... In preperation for this event I have been doing everything in my power to celebrate.... I have marked my calander, rewatxhed the original 13 eposodes, looked at import sites, read reviews, looked into geting pistons installed in my arms, "looked" at Big O hentai doujin, started screaming Showtime in random places (malls traffic stops, churches), read the manga, got a comunity of amnisiac bums together in my backyard.... they sit in my dome tent that I call Paradim and drink whisky.... Ok so maybew I am exadurating a little... But (TWITCH) COME ON (stab)!!! IT'S BIG O!!!!! |

I've seen The Big O a lot. I see nothing to be so excited for...I didn't like it at all. In fact all my anime friends and I dislike it. But thats just us. So just keep being happy for it. Just ignore me, thats what everyone seems to do anyway. Enjoy

I never watched Big O when it originally ran on CN, but I did watch the recent re-airing, and liked it a lot. Roger is a badass - part Batman, part Spike - and he's got a giant robot, albeit a wierd looking one. I tivo'd the last 2 eps and still need to watch them, but so far it's been pretty cool. I'm deffinately excited to see the new season.

i watched it on adult swim and i liked it a lot. it's one of the most original mecha shows i've seen in a long time.

Same here. I always wondered why it had the fanbase that it had until I actually watched the show. Not too shabby. In fact, I don't know how the big fans of the show could handle that original ending. Talk about a cliff-hanger. I guess that is some of the reason why there is a season 2. |

REPRAZENT[b] etc. Anyhoo, I have yet to understand how people could NOT like this show. It's neat, well-produced, professionally acted, and its got its own original, inimitable style. I suppose some fans might be decrying the series for aping a more american animation aesthetic than most other anime, but whatever. This new season should be downright nifty. Can't wait! |

I agree with the Roger assesment of yours. He's an amalgam of two of the coolest characters of all time. I actually didn't like the series the first time I saw it. I don't remember why I didn't like it, but I love it now. The uncensored version is far superior to the censored version because a lot of things that didn't make sense with the omission of the Christian undertones made sense. |

Big 0 is the second season? What did they call the first?
I like the show the first time I saw it. Mainly because the arts is good and all the voice actors and actress did a really good job. |

The Big O is the name for both seasons of the show. I refer to the new season as The Big O season 2. Many people simply say Big O 2.
And I am really anticipating the new season of The Big O. It's a wonderful treat to come home to from a week-long vacation on Long Beach Island (weather was lousy). Five reasons I love The Big O 1. the premise is rather original and well framed by the dark, stylish, noir setting of the series that makes me want to wear my fedora (which is a problem since a fedora is too heavy for summer and I really should be wearing my panama). 2. The mecha designs and robot fights are unique, stylish, and refreshingly different (boxy, militaristic Gundam-style boxy military mecha are well and good, but giant robot fights used to be wild, imaginative fun. 3. The music (OP and ED excepted) is an engrossing mixture of cool Jazz and strong orchestral pieces with a few other things thrown in for good measure. 4. The voice acting, in both languages, is excellent. Steven Jay Blum and Lia Sargent are perfectly cast and I couldn't bear anyone else in those roles. The other cast members are equally superb, Michael McConnhie is a menacing, potent Schwarzwald and Wendee Lee fits angel like a skintight catsuit (me-OW). 5. R. Dorothy. It's SHOWTIME! Big-O has lots of religious themed referencces. When it was shown on Toonami 2 years ago alot of the religious references were cut out for fear of offending people so lots of stuff didn't make sense. The recent showing of the uncut version has helped alot of people figure it out. Alot of people who didn't like it the first time like the uncut version better. Big-O is one of those shows that gives out alot of visual and plot clues if you look for them. It requires you to think about what your watching and many people are turned off by it. But once you start picking up on the hints and clues of whats going on suddenly people see the show in a whole new light. And I am sitting anxiously waiting for Episode 14. |

I won't post any spoilers...in case any have taped it and haven't watched it yet... but I will say I liked it alot! I had no clue where they were going with the episode for most of it, but that one of the things that makes this such a good series....it actually keeps me guessing. For all the CN nay-sayers.....we owe them big time for this one

As of now, I do not like it. Not one bit.
Roger awash in a cockpit full of tomatos? Alternate realities in plate glass windows? A memory/flashback as a Shakespearean-style play? I'm thinking, "OMFG. Big O is trying to be Evangelion." -_- Not that there weren't numerous similarities between the two shows already... But Big O had a charm of its own. Among other things, the more straightforward action-adventure aspects that made it such a campy throwback to the super robot shows of the 70's and 80's. That combined with casual investigation into the importance of memories, was the one-two punch that made this show so unique and fun for me. But now that seems to have been given a back seat to the intellectual aspects, as if the show now wants to follow more in the footsteps of EVA. All I can say is, I really hope the lead-out was right about "getting back to normal" in the next episode... >_> Does anyone else feel like this episode has changed the direction and/or tone of the story as a whole? I know a couple of the previous episodes got pretty surreal, but the worst that got to was visions in flames and bright light flooding out of places where there should be none. This episode takes it to a whole new level. Or, it seems that way to me anyway.

I'm conflicted. On one hand I loved it and admire CN for having the balls to produce something along those lines, but it did remind me too much of Eva. It was appropriate for what was going on, but I do want to see it get back to the style of the first 13 episodes. I reserve judgement until I see the rest of the episodes.
