Castle in the Sky - 2:00am
Porco Rosso - 4:15am
May 12, 2006
Princess Mononoke - 2:00am
My Neighbor Totoro - 4:30am
May 19, 2006
Whisper of the Heart - 2:00am
Pom Poko - 4:00am
It shows the english cast for all the movies.
Hopefully they keep up showing the movies every once in awhile. I would have liked to seen Nausicaa again rather than Whisper/Pom Poko.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I haven't been watching the Cartoon Network broadcasts because I already own on DVD the movies that are being shown, but these have some that I haven't seen... I haven't seen Totoro yet, I was thinking of buying it the other day, but I'll wait to see it on TCM and I might get it if I like it.

What with all the Miyazaki-ness all of a sudden? First TCM, then Cartoon Network, and now TCM again. I wonder if we'll ever get an Otomo marathon (Akira on Toonami ).

Who cares? At least Miyazaki is FINALLY getting some well-deserved (and long overdue) mainstream recognition!

Thanks for the heads up! I'm trying to catch up on the Ghibli films, have most of them, but have yet to get Totoro or Porco Rosso. There's always an "awe" when seeing anime on mainstream television...

omg.....ARE YOU SERIOUS!? what the f*ck were you smoking/drinking/snorting/ when you thought of that!? there's no way Akira would EVER be on primetime TV in this country. |
I think it was a joke. You forgot to quote the " ". I thought it was funny atleast. Maybe Akira followed by Ninja Scroll....

Refresh my memory, but didn't the scifi channel run akira at 8pm one night. I am sure of it.
Anyway TCM, and cartoon network are both owned by turner broadcasting company. Not sure its hard to keep these mega companies fully understood.
Anyway TCM does buy movies in bulk, and since the networks are probabally affiliated it stands to reason more bang for the buck. Anime is a expanding market, and stands to reason that eventually you would get some. You know what why the heck is it on TCM. What was it part of a package deal?
This blows my mind. I do not recall TCM being a comercial station. So there are no market share concerns. Thats a channel for old people running vault movies. That isnt even a target demographic for anything.
Can anyone explain this to me. I am lost on the logic. Not that I will not watch, but I am still very very very confused. What exactly is the goal here to get kids to watch TCM, or anime junkies?
