...You're kidding. So Sony is copying both Nintendo AND Apple? Sony, I'm a loyal customer, and I'm very disappointed...

Subtle. Almost as subtle as the Playstation Move.

They could have at least been clever and called it the Ai-pad in an announcement yesterday.

I'll just munch on some popcorn and watch the hilarity ensue. Thank goodness PC gaming never had to rely on such gimmicks.

it's less about copying other companies and more learning about what sells by observing other companies success, and what everyone has learned is that complex and intuitive mechanics sell. it's like how companies observe how customers like quality products, it's not information or ideas that anyone can call their own.

and for the record nintendo copied sony first.

although the tech is different the basic premise is the same which is motion technology and plays no differently than a wii remote

Do you think Sega was copying Nintendo when they decided their consoles should use control pads instead of joysticks?

Sega originally did use joysticks with their first console/controller with the SG-1000. The said console was released in 1983 on the same day as the nintendo famicom in Japan.

Businesses do not run off of creativity, they run off of profits. That's not a criticism, by the way: that's how they work.

They're calling it an Eyepad? Apple is never going to let them get away with that.

well if they do it in Europe only they might be able to but I need to look up international laws. Again with sega every where else in the world the genesis is known as the "mega-drive". This includes japan, south america, Europe etc. However they could not trade-mark that name in the united states because it was already registered to something else.
