Omg, I think I just shat my pants. This is exactly the kind of exposure they need too... And they have Flyleaf too!
I need to go to this.
"this crazy Japanese band that are just out of their minds." Heh, Davis is pretty out of his mind too, and though I've lost tons of respect for him over the years, Korn still remains on my regular playlist. I am so going to be at that Florida show even if it is 5 hours away. It's great to see Deg not going the usual route of exposure other Japanese bands have attempted with for with NA. If their setlist is nothing but their hard stuff I think Deg will fit right in with the Korn crowd. Flyleaf on the other hand will be having some problems.
You've obviously never been to a Korn concert, or a concert of that genre if you think this is weird. Deg fit the demographic perfectly. Last edited by littlegreenwolf on Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:42 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I wouldn't call it long seeing as they were just announced on an Indie label no more than 5 months ago. This is HUGE. Most bands I would know would be crapping their pants in joy for this kind of exposure. With Warcon they were looking at tours with a targeted demographic of 12-25, mainly with punk, emo, and other music they don't really fit in with, and with an audience perhaps no more than a few hundred. But this is Korn, and NO ONE is more huge than Korn in the Industrial circut then perhaps Nine Inch Nails. They sell out of pretty much every one of their shows, which go for the 1000s, and since this is outdoors it looks like, it can be over 10,000. The demographic are 15+, and exactly the audience their music is for. This is seriously huge. Bands everywhere would give up bodyparts for the oppertunity to tour with Korn. Oh god, I think I'm still in shock. Never in my wildest dreams would I of dreamed such a tour for Deg. I think I'm going to have to relook at my summer schedual to possibly follow this thing. I'm not a Korn fan, but I do love deg! I hope they become very popular! My friend is a metalhead, and he hasn't heard any deg yet, but he might like them if he knew they were touring on a big metal tour with Korn.

Not to pick nits, but Korn is nothing close to industrial. If we must label them, "nu-metal" is the proper monicker.
Either way, I'm stoked for DeG to get some exposure, as it could *COULD* pave the way for some other Japanese hard rock/metal acts to get some stage time here in the States. I'd never heard of them until my friend introduced me to their music a while back, and I think they'll vibe really well with Korn's crowd, provided they stick with their aggressive stuff. Any hint of a ballad or overt poppiness and they will be sunk faster than a shopping bag full of rocks. |

When it first came on, I was like, holy crap DeG is gonna be in WPB. Shame I don't really like them enough to deal with Korn fans |

Clever troll, troll guy. Next time try saying something that exercises more than two braincells. It'd be appreciated if you exhibited at least a caveman's intellect. |
