Oh, you mean the "better" Di Gi Charat series. No, there's only one DVD in it. But there are a lot of sequels. Thankfully, Panyo Panyo was just a one season series. The series actually took place prior to the other series when Dejiko was living back on planet Di Gi Charat. Apparently she became a bitch when she grew up. All of the other series have the "mean" Dejiko so you won't have to worry about that...

Other then the original Di Gi Charat series and Panyo Panyo... unfortunetly none of them starring Dejiko have come to the US... yet. Both Di Gi Charat - A Trip to the Planet and Di Gi Charat Nyo have been licensed. They're um, somewhat on hold right now or something, I honestly don't know what's going on with them but they should come soon, like at least within a year or something.

If you can't wait, you can try out Leave it to Pyoko! which Pyoko stars in. Dejiko does make a few appearences in it though and the comedy is very, very similar so you'll most likely like the series if you liked the original Di Gi Charat.

If you're willing to try something else, you can try Galaxy Angel, which was made by the same people as Di Gi Charat. The comedy's kind of similar, but it's not quite as random and doesn't contain any bathroom humor unlike Di Gi Charat. Dejiko and Puchiko have a cameo in the series and the third season even shows planet Di Gi Charat, in which some theives are portrayed as a thugs wearing cat masks who say "Nyo" after everything. They actually make quite a few reappearences and become somewhat regularly seen characters.

I haven't seen Cromartie High, but I know it's a comedy so it was probably just a parody of her. I've seen Di Gi Charat parodied in a lot of anime (Excel Saga, Nurse Witch Komugi, and Hare+Guu off the top of my head) so it wouldn't be the first time.

Edit: Looked in the credits for Cromartie High and noticed that it was directed by Hiroaki Sakurai (director of Di Gi Charat). So that's the reason. I also noticed a parody of Pyocola Analogue III in the Japanese cast... for some reason, I didn't know Hiroaki Sakurai directed Cromartie High, I'm actually wanting to see this anime now that I know that. I wasn't particularly familiar with the type of anime it parodied, so I held it off until I saw some of GTO (which I have now).

Guess I'll get the box set which comes out in August... or possibly indivitual volumes. Do the indivitual volumes come with translation notes or something? I'm wondering what the extras are in order to decide which way I'll get it.
