Mr.Roboto, to use the coupon you need a Borders Rewards card. It is free. Details for obtaining one can be found here, http://www.bordersrewards.com/

With the Borders Rewards card, every purchase you make, 5% of it goes towards a Holiday Spending account that you can use in November to January. If you manage to spend $50 in a month, then the next month, you can choose any day to use a Personal Shopping Day. Basically for the whole day, you can have 10% off every purchase you make. Occasionally they send you more coupons through e-mail. However, the coupons these days are not really the greatest.

The great thing is that you can keep printing them and buy one item a day. It stinks that you have to come back the next day to buy another item. However its 30% off ANY item!

So did you open a new account and select the coupon instead of the $5? If so, do you know if ¨someone¨ can do this around College school time? I, I mean whoever does it can sure save a lot of money on college books.

you need to have the borders rewards card. It works at both waldens and borders but you have to show it when you use the coupon. It's not a credit card it's just a piece of plastic you show to get rewards just like at best buy, etc.

I didn't open a new account I found it online. The coupon is much more valuble than the $5.

Also you can change the date in the URL to whenever you want. It works.

Exercise caution in the use of this coupon- it's supposed to be for signing up your Borders Rewards account online, so using too many too often at the same store will likely tip off the employees- to the point that coupon policy would change.

As more 'much more valuable than the $5'- depends on what you buy. the most expensive thing I buy is newtype USA magazine at 12.95. 30% of 12.95= $3.88. So the $5 was better for me. (I don't do coupon cheats, I work retail and I know what it's like to be on the recieving end.)
