I noticed that there are a sequence of reviews missing from the database. I discovered this when ANN posted the review for Tactics Vol. #1 today, its URL contained the reference #1019. However, when I tried to access Reviews #1015, #1016, #1017, and #1018, all I received was the "Resource not Found" error message. I assume that there was something wrong with those URL domains and that's probably why you passed over them and assigned #1019 to the Tactics Vol. #1 review. Or do these reviews actually exist, and for some reason we can't access them?

Although I'm not an editorial staff and can't be 100% sure, it's most likely that those "empty slots" were reviews which had been moved, merged, or deleted. As of today the Encyclopedia has 6600 titles but the numbering goes up to 6723, meaning 123 entries has either been merged to an existing title or deleted. If you check the Encyclopedia page by page (I did it once before when there were ~4200 titles) you'd bump into some empty slots as well.

I notice that the latest review, Desert Punk Vol. #4, has the Reference number #1015. If you click on the link for #1015 on my initial post, you can access it.

Reviews aren't necesarrily posted in the order that they are entered into the system, and some reviews get deleted.
Hense the "empty" slots. Some people were using the numerical order to read material that was unposted, and then commenting on unfinished work. For a myriad of reasons, we don't want that, so we don't permit it any more. So material that exists, but is unposted, can no longer be read by non-staff. -t |
