what happened to the Descendants of Darkness manga?

I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but Viz has only released up to volume 11 so far, and that was a good month or so ago. I know sometimes they wait a month or two to release a new volume of something, but I checked their website to see the upcoming releases all the way up to november, and no new volumes of Descendants is being released. And I know there's 14 volumes in all, so does anyone have any clue what happened, or what's going on with it? I can't find any scanlations of the series, so I've been very closely following Viz's releases here. I would be SO happy just to know what's going on.

There are only 11 volumes. There are more chapters that were never published as tankobon, including two semi-recent side stories, but there were only 11 books, not 14.

O__o but how is that possible? book 11 doesn't even have an ending to the situation going on, let alone an ending for the entire series.

Descendants is a very odd case, because even though I believe there are enough chapters for a 12th volume, they have never been released in a tank, as previously mentioned. And there seems to be no plans for an English GN to come out. So probably your best bet would be to see if you can find scanlations of these chapters. Or wait and hope that eventually something changes.

Who knows? I've heard multiple rumors, from illness to publisher disputes. The unpublished chapters don't answer any questions, either, but add more, particularly about Hisoka's family and Watari's past. ...which have been hanging for, what, two, three years now.
