It's not like anime-styled humanized pony fanart has been up since...immediately after the show began airing in 2010. Some of it's been good, others have looked kind dull, like this little video. There's almost always something in the intricacies of design that give away that it was done by a Westerner.

This was on EQD days ago, nice little piece I guess. Although I'd hate to see an official work that took colorful cartoon ponies and turned them into generic moe anime characters. Glad stuff like this is left to fan works.
And INb4 the this isn't anime rant posts. 
But yeah fun to see crossover stuff like this from fans, although I imagine an actual MLP anime would probably end up just a big a mess a PPGZ.

I guess they're too much into the iconography, marketing and participatory fanart to actually WATCH any of the OAV videos... 
I have to ask--No, seriously: How many of the HS and college "bronies" and fangirls actually know it was a stomach-churningly soppy 80's toytoon being revived for Saturday-morning license renewal, and not some "hip anime-style" trend made just for them?
