The original was a net anime, this upcoming project will be a TV anime.

While the ONA was looked great, the show itself really wasn't and tried to squeeze too much into its short format. I hope they do it over again with the TV series.

The only thing that can save Gainax is to make Gunbuster 3.

I doubt they could even muster the talent and money to make a single good episode. And hell, even though I loved Diebuster, there's enough people out there who absolutely loathe it as some kind of tarnishing of the original OVA, so you can only imagine the intense scorn they'd have for another sequel.

I watched this ONA recently, and I really liked it. Sure the plot was pretty nonsensical and none of the characters really got fleshed out. That's why I'm glad its getting a full series, I'd like to see more of the world it takes place in!
