Attack on Titan is just today's David vs. Goliath story, it can be used by anyone to describe any struggle. |
If by today you mean a horrible misinterpretation of it? Then yes! Way to compare the struggle of one powerless man/child over a giant.

So yeah, make comparisons over the fact china has books with history of their government opression. Like retaliation over them with actual tanks. These times, past or present have no right to be compared with AOT. When opression or inner conflict within the anime/manga is butchered and superficial at best.

They are just puppets. And I think you know name of Puppet Master, who use those "romantics" with no brain. Please don't compare this flash mob with students on Tiananmen Square.

With their arms crossed in the air like that, they remind me of a different anime character...

The city hasn't even been under Chinese control for twenty years; the titans are the only thing it can be compared to.

Shunning history from outside the city does not excuse that they can't find simple comparisons from actual events in world history. Not from a popcorn anime and manga.
Nor has it been 100 years under control/oppressed by inhuman tards. So no, it can't be related to AOT. It's fictional outlooks only work on an fictional outcome. It's not like character motivations or emotions that you can compare too generally. I would be fine if they only mentioned Eren and Mikasa. But not the whole show generally. So these students would generalize living, an breathing politicians as evil souless animals that want to wipe them to extinction? That's a bit of chunibyo thinking right there...

You're twisting the analogy to emphasize the irrelevant parts that don't fit to dismiss the relevant parts that do. This little bit of intellectual dishonesty doesn't wipe away the very valid concerns of Chinese authoritarianism devouring Hong Kong's very different culture and policies.
