Saw this at Scotland loves anime last weekend, for the most part I thought it was pretty terrible to be honest. Although granted I might have gotten more enjoyment out of it if Id played more of the game before hand.

Playing the game ads a lot to the experience and makes it worth watching but all in all the movie's not that great. It look like Hellena Taylor did a good job dubbing, but honestly, the movie portrays Bayonetta as a lot more sexual and not quite as powerful or intimidating as she is in the game (this will be hard to understand if you haven't played it, and might also be if you have, but other people have complained about this), and those lines about her enjoying the pain of the angels are pretty out-of-character and I was kind of hoping the dub would take them out.

^Not really surprising considering Gonzo made it; which makes it hard for me to even get excited about the film.

It should be noted those with a Funimation subscription already have access to the full dub of the movie.
