Went to a used book store where I got Yakitate Japan 1-4. I also went to Walmart where I got Legend of Korra Book 3 (on blu-ray for me and on DVD for my friend for a gift) and a $10 Nintendo eShop card (I need to buy the Pokemon TCG game that went on there recently, I sold my physical gameboy copy ages ago, yet still have the box and manual and stuff for it). I also placed an order on GoHastings, mostly for something for my step sister (Hellsing manga 4-9) and GodChild 1, 2 and Cain Saga 1, 2, 4 for me (to match my GodChild 3-8 that I got for $10 total at a comic shop's black friday sale. At another comic shop, I got Heroic Legend of Arslan 2 60% off and a Catbug Where's Waldo style book for my friend (same as Korra), Serenity comic v4, and the Adventure Time original series v4 (Bitter Sweets).

Have yet to see a dvd with disc rot. Apparently the coating degrades over time and or excessive heat affects it? To think all these years , the only "problem" I have ever had with any of my discs is "friends" who can't seem to remember where they left 'em. Of course that link would be for the one I don't have. And I see someone is asking 499.00 for it? That's crazy. Especially since... Last year it was reported here that a Region B Blu-ray was going to be released in the 4th quarter of 2014. I have yet to see it available for pre-order at Amazon UK but I'm certainly going to be buying it. Hopefully early next year then? we'll see. The set I had a problem with was the one that includes a light blue slip cover for the two cases, disc 5:
@Kruszer, Oddly enough, the one for "Now and Then, Here and There" is the only one that they took the subtle approach with.

Funimation Cybermonday sale:
Lupin III - The Woman called Fujiko Mine LE- BD/DVD Combo-$26.25 Casshern Sins -BD/DVD Combo-$16.87 Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror BD/DVD Combo-$9.37 Last Exile Anime Classics-$9.99 Pretty decent deals at the Funi store. Some of these are I think the lowest I've seen them. The combo of Casshern is priced at roughly where the BD only SAVE version has been going for. I think Oblivion Island combo is cheaper than the BD only at its lowest. From Amazon: Steins;Gate: Complete Series Classic BD/DVD combo - $24.49 I really wanted the LE of Steins Gate, but it sold out so fast it was ridiculous. There was therefore no reason to get the two separate, but more expensive regular editions. So I waited for the complete series and Amazon dropped the price. |

Whew, another wallet claimed by the Dark Lord! Me second Xmas sale order:
Humanity Has Declined BD (not for me, for a friend) Soul Eater complete DVD (for my step sister, she should've asked for Azumanga and Cro High years ago before they went impossibly OOP) The Attorney live action Finding Mr. Destiny live action Jail Breakers live action Penny Pinchers live action Punch live action I'm getting into live-action K-dramas and stuff, these were all nice and cheap too! I expect to see more 5 Points stuff as the sale goes on (and I already had Bleak Night) but I'm also likely to order something else anyway. I looked up movie info on MyDramaList, see how other people enjoyed them. Manhwa Novella 3: The Starry Night I already had v4, which I really enjoyed actually. The other two vols didn't look quite as appealing to me, so I went with 3. |

I was going to wait until later in the sale, but I just decided to order what caught my eye so far:
Humanity Has Declined Redline And Yet the Town Moves Serial Experiments Lain Aside from the first one, I haven't seen any of the other titles. |

The Escaflowne arrived and as far as I can tell before watching it, all seems well. The set is genuine, seems to be in very good condition — and was under MRRP. (So not $500!) I'm happy. I like the approach to displaying your collection shown in the photos. A sort of anime hoard of Smaug. Do you curl up on top of it all and purr? |

I just ordered from Right Stuf:
Gundam Unicorn DVD Bundle - I can't afford the Blu-ray's so these DVDs will have to do. Yumeria DVD Complete Collection - I saw this years ago and for $6.99 I couldn't resist getting it. Eureka Seven AO Part 2 DVD/Blu-ray - I already have part 1 so it's about time I got this. Kids on the Slope Blu-ray - I've been waiting for this to go on sale and it's at a great price too. That'll be it for me during this holiday sale. Can't afford to order anything else for a while. |

wishing I had ordered that one from Madman instead.
First series I ever marathoned. Holo & Kraft and Emma & William have since made their way on to my list of couples in anime and great viewing experiences, but Van & Hitomi were there in the very beginning. When everything "anime" was all shiny for me. Can't wait to pick up the UK's blu release of this.

You still haven't gotten it? So jealous that you've got the Perfect Vision box set. At the time that it came out I didn't care about nice box sets at all and instead bought the crappy R2 singles |

Fun Escalowne Perfect Vision fact: back in the fall of 2011, I had the Anime Legends set, still in its shrinkwrap because I hadn't watched it yet. I come across a woman who has the Perfect Vision set in immaculate condition who wants to trade her set for the more space conscious Anime Legends version. Wow, I really had to think about that one for a nano-second or two.
A few weeks ago, I scored another impressive deal from a guy who was selling the Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa, Ponyo, The Secret World of Arrietty BD/DVD combos - still in their shrinkwrap for $10 each. He was also selling The Rocketeer 20th Anniversary Edition for $10 and his condition was that a buyer had to purchase all six titles. I had no real interest in The Rocketeer, but $60 to get the five Ghibli combo sets practically new was too good to pass up (besides Jennifer Connally is in The Rocketeer which by itself makes it worth watching eventually). Turns out he had joined the Disney Movie Club and selected six titles. Only the Club managed to confuse his order with someone else's and even though they rectified that, they told him just to keep the original six. He hadn't even heard of Ghibli movies before. Scoresville! |

Nice Ghibli haul. I imagine Castle in the Sky is really worth watching on a big nice screen.
(And yes, the young Jennifer Connelly is fairly watchable.) |
