Either these series weren't doing well enough to be serialized longer or they were meant to be a short series.

It also is tough to follow up to an original anime series if it was successful. If the anime was great, you're expecting the same from the manga but it may not be the case. I've seen quite a few series in manga form that simply did not last long, I think these may be more to try and draw more attention to the series as a whole, possibly to draw the manga crowd in too.
