Lol, the one who wrote this article must be a big fan of Madoka Magica. Madoka Movie 3 did 400,003,600 yen in its opening weekend, not 436,000,000 yen:
animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=4560136#4560136

I assume you were the one who wrote the previous article. Do you even read what you use as sources? Look what it says in the Yaraon article you linked for the previous article on LL opening with 400,235,800 yen:
http://yaraon-blog.com/archives/64336.

Quote:
400,003,600円 271,279人 129館 20.8億 まどか新編

Does that look like 436 million yen to you? Everyone knows the articles you linked in the article where it says Madoka Movie 3 opened with 436,000,000 had a typo. 4億3600万円 vs 4億3600円 is a very easy typo to make. You should really fix the misinformation in all related articles, or people will assume you are a big fan of Madoka Magica.

Yes, it's very strange that they would ignore the comments on the last article and continue to use the incorrect figures.

I find it funny that MyAnimeList has more correct numbers and reporting than AnimeNEWSNetwork.

The corrected article still says that Love Live! sold less than PMMM even though Love Live!'s numbers are higher. Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop

I'm currently on season 2 of Love Live! and it's kind of generic but at the same time it's so fun to watch and surprisingly addictive.

I will be making a trek to sanfran when this movie comes out for sure.

Doubt it's better than Mad Max though.

I didn't check, but that would be funny. From my sources, LL was #1 in weekend box office gross and #1 for attendees for its opening weekend, while it was #2 in weekend box office gross and #1 for attendees for its 2nd weekend. It barely lost out to Mad Max Fury Road with ¥261,241,140 vs ¥264,784,500. A difference of ~3.5 million yen.

Anyway, I have the data after 9 days (1st weekend + 2nd week + 2nd weekend).

1st weekend (June 13~14)
Gross: ¥400,235,800
Attendees: 251,811

Source: https://twitter.com/moviewalker_bce/status/610327335628201984

Current status after 2 days: ¥400,235,800 from 251,811 attendees

2nd week (June 15~19)
Gross: ¥169,170,100
Attendees: 121,972

Current status after 7 days: ¥569,405,900 from 373,783 attendees

Deduced from this source:

Gross after 2nd weekend - 2nd weekend gross - 1st weekend gross = 2nd week gross. Same for attendee numbers.

¥830,647,040 - ¥261,241,140 - ¥400,235,800 = ¥169,170,100
561,844 - 188,061 - 251,811 = 121,972 attendees

2nd weekend (June 20~21)
Gross: ¥261,241,140
Attendees: 188,061

Source: https://twitter.com/moviewalker_bce/status/612977449282867202

Current status after 9 days: ¥830,647,040 from 561,844 attendees.

Love Live! The School Idol Movie sold 251,811 tickets in its first weekend, earning 400,235,800 yen (about US$3,240,900). In terms of amount of tickets sold, the film was in first place, but in terms of box office earnings, the film opened in second place behind Our Little Sister, the live-action film adaptation of Akimi Yoshida's (Banana Fish) Umimachi Diary manga.

This is partially correct. The film was in 1st place for weekend box office gross as well during its opening weekend, as it grossed ¥400,235,800, while Our Little Sister only grossed ¥229,117,100, with both being released on the same day.

Quote:
