I think One Punch Man or Re;zero should be the winner in the anime category, that's for sure. Maybe Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress for third place if I were to rank it.

Re:Zero better win for thr anime, my god, it was the most decent for the summer this year. For the novels I think Platinum End should win. It's so beautiful in it's art style and not only that it's damn interesting (Ohba back at it again with the amazing plot twists!!) Other than that, I don't read many light novels but those two r my top picks. I think One Punch Man also has a chance but it wasn't memorable for me, at all. (Don't harp on me, it's just not my cup of tea). I wish some other manga were on the list though.

Rezero should probably win for anime, but I'd really like to see Grimgar finish in the top 3. It's probably the most beautiful, soothing TV anime I've seen.

Very thrilled that Girls und Panzer and Charlotte are in the list! Smile GaruPan's awesome tank battles and Charlotte's lovely aesthetics rose my interest in them to high levels!

Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade might stand a chance. It wasn't quite as impressive as the first one, but it was pretty close.

It's a shame Alderamin didn't make the cut. Probably not enough people watched, but it was a really excellent show. Summer 2016 was very fun.

I was just about to post the exact same thing when I saw your comment!

I know Mob Psycho kinda flew under the radar for a good portion of its run, but I'm genuinely surprised (and bummed) that what turned out to be the most visually impressive anime not just of its own season, but of year 2016 as a whole, would be snubbed in favor of good but much ultimately much less remarkable productions like New Game! or 91 Days. Bah, I suppose that's what happens when shows are chosen at the beginning of the season (I would've been curious to see how different the rankings would've been had the selection happened at the end of summer, though).

That being said I'm pleased to see at least the likes of JoJo and Rakugo made it for the anime category, and BokuHero in the manga category. I don't doubt we'll see a Re:Zero domination since both the LNs and the anime arguably became 2016's biggest hits in their respective medium but who knows, OPM might surprise us and come out on top (which I absolutely wouldn't mind).

Anime category is definitely OPM or Kabenari
Same reaction with everyone when mob 100 was not nominated
I didn't know that a BL manga can be qualified, glad to see 10 count in the list

Nice to "91 Days" listed. I know that Funi is dubbing it but the sales of the 1st Japanesee DVD/BD make it a flop so far.

Anime will probably be Re:Zero or Kabaneri, which I both loved, but honestly I thought Erased was absolutely amazing, which would be my choice. Also enjoyed 91 days and New Game, so glad to see those on the list.

Other thoughts:
Manga - The Ancient Magus Bride
LN - Re:Zero or Konosuba
EN - Your Name

Excited to see who wins!
