There's currently no entry for the Yukiko's Spinach manga and I'm presuming, given that it is a widely available title, that this is because its author, Frédéric Boilet, is French.
Whilst I fully agree with ANN's policy regarding world manga, I think there are a few good reasons for including Yukiko's Spinach: 1) Boilet was working and living in Japan when he wrote Yukiko's Spinach. 2) Whilst the work is largely Boilet's, two Japanese artists also made (minor) contributions - Naito Yamada and Yoji Fukuyama. 3) The manga was published in Japan before it was released in France. According to the title page of the Fanfare / Ponent Mon edition;
4) Mariko Parade - the sequel to Yukiko's Spinach - is in the encyclopedia (it was co-written with Kan Takahama). It seems a little odd to have the sequel listed but not the original work. Anyway, I just wanted to check it was a valid entry before adding it as a new manga. |
