Does that mean Kodomo will be on sale again?

I personally don't really know the series, and to be honest am not interested in it. But i do think it's very good when storefronts choose for this "Steam system", instead of just removing every work that a few un-relaxed people don't approve of.

Of course, that doesn't mean anything that is really illegal should be allowed on stores, but i think it's a pretty nice system for legal, but controversial, content.

I'd be surprised if they don't have this up for sale SOMEWHERE asap ... they have the rights to sell it and had it translated and (apparently) have no money, so I'm guessing they definitely want it available for people to purchase!

Aren't there other old series to license? Ones that don't have nine-year-olds doing things like fellating a cow's udder?

"Shay Guy" it sounds like you hate the series and that's fine, people are entitled to hating it. I don't personally have interest in reading it myself. However the series isn't illegal and is just controversial, people that want to buy it should be allowed. Supporting censorship of fictional stories and being the taste police is in my opinion worse than anything in this series.

I'd like to say this is the way to go, but Steam has backpedaled on their promise of "nothing that isn't illegal will be allowed", targeting anime-style games with school settings or anything else that seems 'unsavory' to them (even if the characters are over 18). Hopefully Project-H/Digital Manga doesn't do the same.

Hmm a step in the right direction from what I was reading from the Project-H's twitter feed. Honestly let them set up their own store/payment account with their licensed content and sell it. If you personally do not like porn or ecchi series in general don't buy them or even acknowledge they exist.

Wait, Steam ALREADY backpedaled? I knew it would happen but I'm a bit surprised they were this quick. As someone who only plays games on PC currently I'd really like to escape steam.

So am I the only one who noticed that "Project" is misspelled in the headline?

yeah they did, to get that game onto steam they would have to completely remove that character all together. That is virtually impossible given how much said character is in the game.

I have never understood all the angst that this series has generated. Do people not have anything better to do with their time than police something they are not interested in?

The update said there will be a new site with "Steam-style content filtering," in which users must disable an adult content filter, and after this "things should be all good."

I had to laugh xD I know what he means, but it's a kinda poor choice of words to use Steam as an example for this, as even with their new policy and content filtering, they are still banning stuff with children in anime-style from their service, even if it doesn't have any sexual content, so stuff like kodomo no jikan, which even has some sexually suggestive scenes, would definitely be a no go for Steam staff.

Is it really that easy? I always hear how people get deplatformed from PayPal, Patreon, and even their webhost so they can't even have a site to use as a store. I imagine the next step is credit card companies cutting you off Laughing They sure make it hard to be your own business when you're forced to rely on big companies for basic services.

Basically companies can strong arm you into do things their way or it's the high way. To me that's not democracy or a free market but a closed one. A market that collective dictates what is/is not okay and if you try building an alternative like H-Project is doing they will most likely be strong armed into removing content.

At this point i'm talking in circles but stuff like this really urks me to no end
