End of an era.
This most certainly means the rest of the chapters for Supipara won't get released... |

I don't think MangaGamer has released Trinoline yet, though it was announced a couple years ago.
I wonder if they still intend to release it, or if they even can? Bummer. |

Mobile has taken down another erogame devoloper. Then again it is easy to make an erogame like this on mobile (DMM and Nutaku are full of them).

I've contacted MangaGamer about their already existing titles just an hour ago, they mentioned it still being in the works. ==== Hello! All existing minori releases will continue to be available via the MangaGamer site, Steam, and GOG as applicable, and minori's upcoming title Trinoline will still be released without issue. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you! Best Regards, MangaGamer Staff |

Cool, I was looking forward to it since I've liked all their previous games, thanks for contacting them! Hopefully the devs and writers will be able to latch on at other companies. |

disappointing, even though i only played ef from them, it had a big impact on me and still remains one of the few adult vns that got me teary eyed in the end also loved the soundtrack so much i had too rip it, pretty relaxing listen too when you want too take a nap :p

Minori will be missed. I still haven’t played any of their games yet. So far I’ve only seen the anime for Ef and loved it. It will definitely be the first game from them I buy.

I've only played eden* so far, but I'll always remember them for giving us ef the anime.
Sad to see them go; I hope the VN industry will be able to adapt, but I fear it's just the latest of a series of developers to go under (like sprite did). Frontwing is trying their best to spread internationally on their own while the other ones either seem content to let Sekai Project/MangaGamer/their likes handle internationalization, or not even bother at all. |

Wow I wasn't expecting this at all, this is a huge shock for me. They had some amazing stories. I'm sad to see them go

They already almost went bankrupt at the 2012th when first part of Supipara bombed. Studio has recovered but stopped experimenting with stories and cut the production budgets.
Still, these news are quite out of place as their last work sold decently as far as I know. I personally only own eden* as I had read Wind and EF in that time when there werer no official translations for their works, but Ido not mind buying more if it somehow affects their former staff. If there's any justice in the world, MoeNovel/Pulltop will be next...

The issue isn't so much that they aren't making enough money. It seems more like that they understand that the market is changing and that they would have to make games that they don't want to make in order to stay viable as a company. |

Which is a bit odd in their case actually. Supipara was more in vein with the current VN trends and it bombed because main audience of minori products are their long-term fans who expect very specific stories from them. They hanged on for the last 6+ years exactly because they stopped trying to do something else end worked for the established fanbase instyead. I don't think this fanbase suddenly disappeared. |

The company may have gone, but maybe some of the development team will get together and try the Kickstarter/crowdfunding route. Maybe they can get help from one of the remaining VN producers or related companies. I just hope if they go that route they get some advice/help from someone who has done it before. I try backing some of the better crowdfunding VN efforts but there are so many junk VNs coming out on Steam and KS that its hard to find good ones,
I may have to go a see where i can get ones I don't have, I have a physical copy EF and Digital eden from MG but the rest I want to get just to have them, I really loved Ef and Eden a lot. Sol Press seems to be going in a lot with VNs they are trying in KS for one though I'm not sure it is going to make it, though it looks good, The Kickstarter for the localization of Favorite's Irotoridori no Sekai has officially launched! Will you help us localize this touching story of magic and romance? https://www.kickstarter.com/…/irotoridori-no-sekai-a-visual… Sol Press is also trying to do a Steam for VNS so I hope that happens soon, it would be nice to have a place for all VNs that really encourages and supports publishers. animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-10-29/sol-press-to-launch-digital-light-novel-manga-visual-novel-platform/.138804?fbclid=IwAR36kCeyjWiuTyJIQLDCmZ-_uiPtt5TP2no22ZRg9yjgpuFlpTP025ZOfJA And JAST/JBOX/JLIST seem to be trying to publish more VNs as well. It seems to be both a good and bad time for VNs publishers. |
