oh thats cool its rena in her...
oh no...
is that... blood on her face?!?
run keichi! run! the nightmare hasn't ended!

jokes aside no idea what this means, hope they're not thinking of continuing the Higurashi storyline unless it's a what happened next, Keichi and the club members all earned their 'happy end.'
The only part of Higurashi I am still interested in is Rika and Hanyū's connection to Bernkastel and Featherine Augustus Aurora.
Although it would be cute to see the cast bully Hanyū a bit. And Rika's 'Nipa' catchphrase is adorable.

I hope this follows on from Outbreak(6 years ago? god I can remember eagerly awaiting for fansubs of that), as that ended on a cliffhanger.

Outbreak was based on the first arc of Hou, which was a PC game that included three arcs. However, the anime version changed the ending a bit, and it no longer aligns with the rest of the storyline in Hou... So it seems unlikely.

It's unconfirmed, but the artist behind the visual is supposedly Akio Watanabe, the character designer for the Grisaia and Monogatari franchises.

It looks like their style, it could be an interesting fit for the whole moe-meets-murder style. Personally, I'm hoping this is a remake of the first season, though that could be a stretch. I completely stand by the original (for all the flack it got, I thought Studio DEEN did a fantastic job on it), but it hasn't aged too well since it came out, and the BD release we got here from Sentai shows lol
