-epilogue chapters in another magazine or online
-set of chapters from another characters point of view

TBH that sounds like most Shounen of the last decade or so, except rather than "first arc" it's generally "first few years" but then like the entire last half is worse and worse

I'm guessing I'm hearing lots of heated opinions here.

Consider me intrigued. I’m crossing my fingers that at least the ending/epilogue will be satisfactory.

The current state of the manga is very divisive, to say the least. Nearly everyone agrees that the first arc was amazing, but after that it’s a lot more contentious.

Personally, I’m in agreement that this current arc is OK at best. Promised Neverland had a lot of great things going for it and some interesting plot points, but the execution could’ve been way better.

There does seem to be this weird trend of popular Shounen manga starting off good and then somehow plummeting in quality the closer it gets to finishing (Fairy Tail, Shokugeki no Souma, and arguably Bleach.) Maybe it’s because of the pressure to wrap things up...

Yeah TPN first arc is honestly one of the best first arcs in Shonen history but that is probably because it isn't very Shonen at all.

All the arcs after, I don't hate but it certainly feels more in line with the typical shonen honestly.

I still enjoyed the series and it feels like a great time for it to end.

While I don't dislike what it's turned into, I do agree the first arc was the highlight. After that it became more typical shounen, so I can understand people getting a bit tired with it. But I don't know how long you can keep the sort of mind games mystery tension going in a series without getting boring.
Regardless I still stuck with it all so it must've been good enough to keep me interested.. and now it's almost finished so I'll stay with it until the end.

I love Emma and the themes of peace over violence,, so I mostly love the series throughout. I think the finale arc has been very rushed, though in a bad way. Kind of hope the anime will let it breathe a bit, but who knows if the anime will cover the whole story?
