So Phase 2 may be this...a distant sequel, an AU, spin-off, anything else?

Once again on Lelouch birthday. As expected. This announcement will be important.

I'm interested. It'll probably be more of a risky project than the 2019 movie, which I still enjoyed either way, so I'll be looking forward to seeing whatever else they want to do.

Yeah, the date of this announcement was reasonably predictable as far as Geass is concerned.

It’s gonna be a mobile game. Temper your expectations now.

This is phase 2 of a long term project, so better wait and see given that no project would consider ending at such low note.

They did say they had big plans for Code Geass in the future and the post credit scene from "Lelouch of the Resurrection" implies that it isn't completely peaceful yet.

Additionally, from Code Geass: Akito the Exiled we don't ever get completed conclusion to that Skull thing nor the Caretaker of Spacetime, so I expect those two things to return in the future and maybe that Skull thing as a potential antagonist again.

I still want to see the Nightmare of Nunnally manga adapted into anime form myself, but I'm guessing this isn't that.

I want an actual Oz adaption instead of a another PD drama or Knights/Queens anthology adaption.

Although they did announce a mobile/web game a couple years ago it could be that too. I personally want a console game something similar to Gundam Maxi Boost that would be fun as my phone sucks too much to play any games without lagging.

If they gonna go the Gundam route and make a new series, they gotta figure out a lead as lovable as Lelouch, which is no easy feat.

Regardless of everything, I quite enjoyed the movie series.

I personally liked Kamille more than Amuro, but this is different cause Lelouch is an extremely popular character so to fill his role with a new main character will be hard. Sure he would be back as a supporting character, but ya know it just won't be the same since it would be a direct sequel like Zeta was to 0079.

Akito got by with it cause it was a midquel series. Only other way I can see this franchise skating by is if its another midquel or a prequel to the main series. Or heck it might even take place in R1 or R2 timeline like Oz did.

And if this is a live stage show we are probably going to be waiting a loooooooong time due to Covid 2022 at the earliest cause they delayed the new Gundam 00 stage play until then.

Comedy “live action series” option.

It makes more sense than some suggested ones.

It's probably going to be another movie or a short anime series a la Psycho-Pass 3. Either way, it'll definitely follow off of Re;surrection.

THIS. The only Code Geass spin-off that objectively needs an anime, mainly because it's canon.
