There's a lot to be said about streaming platforms, but Baki was one of the big winners. I believe it was one of this site's reporters who said according to Netflix Baki wasn't anime popular, it was regular popular, closer to Queen's Gambit than something more niche. So on that note it makes perfect sense.

Americans do love their fighting anime if Netflix ratings are to be believed.
