it's interesting how the development location of PlayStation has shifted over the years. In the early years they had some devs in America, some in Europe and some in Japan. Now it feels like it is mainly America, then Europe and then one or two in Japan. And now their IPs that were devolved in Japan are being remade by their American devs.

IIRC, the main headquarters for the Playstation branch of Sony was moved from Japan to the US a few years back.

Nope don't like it. M$ must have really scared them into buying them and those 2 other studios.

If this were truly the case they would've bought a studio of equal repute as Bethesda.

I hate how From is exclusive to Sony. Microsoft should've stepped up, big loss.
But anyways, where's DSIV?

I don't think Microsoft could have really convinced them even if they had offerred. There was never much of a relationship with them to begin with.

Sony doesn't have the capital to make a Bethesda level acquisition. Microsoft does because of their PC game sales to go with xbox (among other money pools lol).
Also while we are on the subject I dont think Microsoft "scared" them into these three recent acquisitions (1 of which has basically been said is for PC ports of their first party games) alot of these happened naturally due to good relationships with each other like with Microsoft purchases.

From Software is independent 3rd-party - it's owned by Kadokawa

Bluepoint hasn't done anything on Microsoft since a couple of Xbox 360 ports
Bluepoint pretty much just works on Playstation ports

Ah yes, how bold of Sony to acquire a studio that was already making PlayStation exclusive games.
