It's also worth noting that one of the things mentioned was some kind of FPS game in the works at a European studio. It's too early to know for sure, but the terms thrown around in the announcement all sound like Sega wants to try its hand at a live service of some sort.

I remember PSO2: NGS NA servers were azure based and there was serious latency issues. |
