The popularity clearly suffered from the long hiatus so please don't let the past repeat itself "crossing my fingers".

The manga was taken off of the physical magazine upon its return & is now a 100% digital serialization in Japan, so I highly doubt it has to worry about the traditional cutthroat hierarchy of Weekly Shonen Jump. |

Just read the latest chapter from this past Sunday on the Jump+ website and it said next chapter June 15th....guessing that's not the case...

That's a shame, this manga really suffered hard after the first long hiatus the author took, so having another hiatus, even a relatively short one, won't do it any favors.

It's still on Weekly Shonen Jump, just the digital version of the magazine. |

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and it certainly was the case for Ruri Dragon. Ruri had strong first volume sales when that volume first came out. You should go to the Wikipedia page and see Reception and that will tell you that Ruri became popular in spite of the hiatus. An animated PV came out two months ago. |

I remember hearing a lot of buzz about it when it was new, and then... so much nothing. That we're still here, talking about it, though, would seem to indicate there's still interest in it. At least in our little anglophone sector of the fandom. And we still haven't even gotten the first volume of the manga yet (I think it's due out in June). And in any case, it's not like RurDragon would be the only series out there to make readers suffer through ridiculously long waits for new content. I think at this point enough people are aware of how brutal the manga industry can be that we really don't mind when the artists need to take breaks. |

Also, Ruri Dragon is still VERY popular in Japan and the volumes are selling quite well.
