The most poorly kept secret in history.
Also, don't expect the original English VAs to come back. Yuri Lowenthal already confirmed that he hasn't been asked to come back to play Yosuke, and I'm guessing like with Persona 3 Reload, this was SEGA's call, so don't harass the new VAs should they get announced. |

Even with all of the leaks from the past few days, and even some from last year, it was pretty obvious that Atlus was going to remake P4 after the announcement of P3's remake. However, I felt like the development of this remake must have started just recently, that teaser felt very empty. Still, Persona is more popular now than ever and I think people have more nostalgia towards P4 than 3, I knew that many where introduced to the Persona series by P4 the Animation, so Atlus can show a brief work-in-progress clip and still get people's attention
I bet that Microsoft gave a lot of money to SEGA/Atlus in order to feature P4's remake on their presentation, because I think most people agree that the Persona series has a much closer association with PlayStation, but obviously it's going to be released on the PS5 as well, though I don't know if they said it's coming to the PS4 as well, I think the console can still handle a game like this, and if that happens maybe it's coming to the Switch 2 as well, though I'm not sure about that, with the exception of Raidou Remaster, there hasn't been any confirmation if P3R and Metaphor will be released on the NS2 this year |

Persona 4 is one of my favorite games but I don't like the look of the trailer. They made Inaba way too bright and colorful. Persona 4 is known for it's gloomy fog, overcast rain, and being very old and rustic looking.
The English VAs are already confirmed to be replaced although I suspect the JP VAs will be the same. I'm curious if the OST will replace the singers like Persona 3's remake did. The trailer ends before we hear the lyrics to see if Shihoko Hirata is still singing Time to Make History. |

The VAs for Chie and Yukiko apparently did the same thing, but the way they all went about it makes seem… deliberate, if that makes sense. |

Will Bosch be replaced too? Will the combat offer more options? Will we be able to date Yosuke?

This was definitively a "please shut up we are working on it" trailer
Looks like it's very early in development, I don't think this remake is coming out anytime soon. |

Did you even watch the teaser? This is so early in development even the Japanese VA's likely haven't been contacted about it yet. |

Uh, Persona 4 is known for being the brightest and most colorful Persona game, and it had Sunny weather, too, in fact, it specifically had music tracks that play on Sunny or Overcast days, and no BGM on rainy days. Honestly, I expect to see weather dynamics be a major part of this game, and the fact that you can actually ROTATE THE CAMERA. That's what the trailer was showing, is that you have full camera control in Inaba, whereas before you were always locked into one perspective. Now you can actually see the sky and see the difference between sunny, cloudy, and raining. |

The irony of this comment given the period the original game was released. Pepperidge Farm remembers the “real is brown” debate. |

I'm really not sure how to feel about this.
Like, one on the one hand, P4 remade P3: Reload style with improved modern graphics and gameplay sounds awesome. At the same time, I feel like P4 (and Golden) are great enough as is that I don't think it really needed to be remade. I also am not looking forward to recasting the Investigation Team and everybody else. I mean, I get it, P4 had been recasting since Golden and they likely wouldn't even be able to get Troy Baker or Laura Bailey back even if they tried, I'm sure the new cast will be great as the P3: Reload cast...but P4's English dub is just so iconic I don't know if I can really take a version that doesn't have JYB, Yuri, or Amanda Winn Lee. I'm curious if they're going to work Marie in somehow. |

Nice and actually atm i felt this year i wanted to play through golden in real time, playing through a single day every day starting in April..spoiler[.just saved Kanji!
] Though i can imagine some dialog changing, forgot how homophobic Yosuke was and to a lesser extent Chie. |

Given that Reload contained none of the content from Portable. They could always base this off the original and not Golden. |

Very few people will go out of their way to go play old games, much less pay for them, if they at very least don't look like something released in 2020s. |

The music in the trailer "Time to Make History" gives me hope that the Golden content will be there from the start.
I only played the original and never got around to Golden, so that would be my main motivation for playing it. Honestly though, I'd rather see the first three games (1 & both 2s) remade in the style of 3-5 for modern systems. You can already play 4 perfectly fine as it is even if it shows it's age. |
