Huh. I'm surprised to see Seven Seas get Girl Meets Rock. Since it's a Jump+ title and already translated it would be easy for them to just have Viz print it, but maybe they didn't feel it would sell well enough.

Maybe they’ll pay the licence fees necessary for including the song lyrics? I feel like there is no point in a physical release if they can’t include the actual lyrics.

Sukeban to Tenkōsei (The Delinquent and the Transfer Student) is a pretty great surprise. It's a little short...but it's sweet, funny and an easy addition to my shelf.
Also glad to add Futsū no Keion-bu (Girl Meets Rock) in physical form. Am curious as to whether we get lyrics or not. Still getting it either way, though.

Background info: the manga shows many songs from actual music groups in Japan. At first they were translated. Then the series stopped for a while, probably because, in Japan, any song, including their lyrics, are under copyright and they cannot be shown, much less translated, without a JASRAC license, which, apparentl, Shueisha just did in Japan for the Jump+ service.
So, the manga came back not too much ago, but with a momentary solution: exchanging the lyrics with literal "[LYRICS]" and now, with musical notes, that, at least, are the best worst solution.
I hope that Seven Seas manages to fix that.

Yes, and an unfortunate thing about it is that the lyrics actually contain a lot of thematic relevance to the scenes where they sing them, and you can clearly tell. In one recent chapter there is even one character who is speaking in thoughts and concludes her thought with the part of the lyrics of the song she's singing, but in the english Shueisha edition is mute and therefore is incomplete. It's a little sad, so I hope if they bring it they can restore it.

Very excited for The Delinquent and the Transfer Student! Girl Meets Rock also seems like a lot of fun, but I've heard about the trouble with copyright its had, and how it affects the story.
