A vampire detective being a thing is enough to get me to watch.

Episode 1

A late pick-up by CR and I'm glad it did. This was one of the titles I was kind of hyped for and I enjoyed the first episode. Did not expect the ending and I'm still not convinced that Louis is actually dead for good, but I guess we'll see. I'm certainly curious about Amy, the quasi-Frankenstein nuncromancer.

This was a good premiere. Reminds me a lot of Undead Girl Murder Farce, though I'd say the former has much more stylish ambiance to it. I'm not against another European-themed supernatural detective thriller, though.

The Louis situation is indeed quite the twist yet I too am unsure about whether he is gone for good or not. The title of the show did make me wonder but I assumed that Louis would become an assistant or something. Him being a one episode addition would be quite the bold move though it would make clear that the cases can be rather deadly. The reason for the murders was silly but I suppose supernatural beings are not always logical.

As soon as they mentioned that the lady had something to do with the flowers I knew that it would be revealed that she was the killer somehow. I guess that there is only so much detail they can put in, that bringing her and the flowers up just felt like the should be important detail.

So, was the first episode an anime only thing or something? I ask because the second episode felt much more like a proper (and far better) start. We were introduced to Arne and Lynn plus the case seems like the origin of their partnership. The episode itself was a lot better than last week too with fun banter between the characters (Lynn is a quirky one), setting up an interesting case and having that supernatural town be a thing.

I think Louis is gone for good, and good riddance. Now if only Lynn would follow suit. I'd watch this just for Arne and his companions, but if Lynn doesn't cool her jets pretty soon she'll be the stake through the heart that turns me to ashes. Let's see how long I last...

This is me focusing on the dumbest and most irrelevant element, but the bat sound effect stole all of my attention. It is like the classic bat sound effect that is so old that I think is in the intro to Scooby Doo (1969). I don't think that I can recall the last time I heard a bat sound effect like that in something new.

I personally like Lynn, but I can see how she'd get on somebody's nerves. I also liked this episode more than the first, mainly because of Lynn's over the top vampophilia and the visuals around Arne's castle and town. I'm a bit confused about what time period we are in, however. Based on last week and Lynn's family home, I would have thought we are in the 1899s, but there are track suits from Japan, cameras and film projectors. The track suit alone seems to put this in at least the 1970s. It doesn't seem to be present day, but could be for all I know.

Yeah, I can see how Lynn ended up becoming part of the Arne Detective squad. Her father is dead (was a serial killer plus pimp) and she has been become very disillusioned with the rest of inhabitants. As for who killed the father, there sure are plenty of people who hated him. I suppose that the butler is the only exception but him not wanting to involve the police or figure it out themselves is also plenty shady.

I'm impatient for Franken-nun to get into the mix.
