I'd say this is a blow to Netflix, but they never cared about this show to begin. Maybe now more people will actually watch it.

I'm no fan of CR either but getting things out of Netflix jail is always good.

This is the 2nd time that an exclusive went from one platform to being on both, idk if this is going to be the path that simulcasting is taking but if its shaping up to be, im completely in

Hmm, so I guess season one didn’t do great for Netflix, like Eden’s Zero and that CGI Saint Seiya reboot.

Apparently Netflix just posted the trailer for Season 2 too. Ig they just lost the exclusive rights, rather than being not interested in it

I remember them saying it was non-exclusive. More the merrier I guess, as long as it’s not two different dub casts.

Excellent, might watch it now. I wasn't going to get Netflix just to watch this. Hopefully next is Dungeon Meshi.

I'm glad Netflix also still has the rights which means the dub will be the same.

Interesting. I have Netflix so I was going to be able to see Season 2 regardless but I'm happy that probably more people will get to see this awesome show. Loved season 1. I saw Season 1 before I read any of the manga. I have since read the entire 23 volume run. To say I'm curious as to how the anime will adapt the material is quite the understatement.

Toho & MAPPA found that spreading it across multiple platforms equates to more profits and more eyes on your product. Smart.

So this is just an exception? We won't be seeing Stone Ocean on CR(or even Hidive or Amazon, Disney etc).

Yeah, more production committees should do that. That strategy worked really well for Dan Da Dan.

My guess is that part of the new Netflix/MAPPA deal for exclusive original content could see the release of older MAPPA shows that adapted IP to other services as Netflix feels they've run their course/weren't high performers worth renewing the exclusivity fee.

Netflix can also exercise greater control on original content they own without paying out to other IP holders, and adapt into live action if they have something popular.
