I liked the inclusion of Hibiki's friends and family and the fact that they seem to know his situation. That does make me wonder if the god of knowledge briefed them, or if they've known all along given the god of knowledge's hint that Hibiki has a complicated history with the gods and their world.

I also continue to like the steady stream of exaggerated muggings and loud reactions done for humorous effect. It may be low brow, but I guess so am I.

I do wonder when Emilia is going to show up again.

The whole god situation is a bit shady in general. This week that bit with the circle in the church was highly unnatural. Hibiki wondering why there was a gem missing made sense yet everyone reacted to it in a manner that can be called programmed. At this point it seems logical to assume that Iver might be related to the god in question (fallen or banished god maybe?).

I was wondering about the missing god icon too. Combining that with the God of Knowledge's hints about knowing Hibiki in some other form/incarnation/life/forgotten past sent my imagination spiraling.

Gotta say, they were leaning pretty heavily on the funny for the first half of this week's episode, but effectively.

So...Hibiki's party is rushing for the Northern dungeon to get Hibiki back to his family and friends

And Hibiki's family and friends have also been isekai'd and are trying to find Hibiiki

And Emilia is...what's Emilia doing again? Whatever is going on, there could be complications as Emilia still think's the woman trying to kill Claude is her friend.

Emilia was heading back to town to find Hibiki last time we saw her. I assume that she will pop up when the party is in trouble to aid them or something similar.

Guy whose very existence is defined by "magic understand things power" spends minutes in an emergency investigating a mysterious bell without using his magic understand things power.

Heh. I noticed that too. What made it even dumber was that he'd just promised Claude to constantly appraise everything for traps to develop his trap detection skill.

I'd guess Claude spouting the lore as he did wasn't from programming but to catch Hibiki up, knowing he was from another world (Ep3 dialogue). Cat Burgler's response I could imagine was an observation that since everyone knows there are 11 gods and there are 11 stones, wondering about a non-existent possible 12th would be very odd. Looking closely at the open spot, there is no circle and radiating lines as the other slots have around the gems to indicate a missing stone. I had just assumed since dividing a circle into 12 sectors is much easier done with a ruler than measuring to get 11 that the open bit was just a leftover slot and not intended to have anything...It will be very interesting if there really should be a 12th "god" though...

We only have two episodes left, so why are we talking about "pants"?....

My thoughts exactly! Although I was expecting Claude to answer "no" when asked if he was wearing any, so "yes" was funny. And it does seem "Chief God" or one of the Sages did something that altered the world and even gods' memories, so commentators here were right. And maybe we see the 12th...Is she the person in the OP? Two weeks...the pacing makes one think they are really banking on a second season...

I am not sure if my 12th god theory became more likely or not this week. The chief god did allude to someone and said person seemingly has some connection to Hibiki and might destroy the world when she wakes up.

Emalia showed up but was quickly defeated by Iver. With only two episodes left it seems unlikely for her to meet up with Hibiki again this season. As for Hibiki... he sure is not one of those overpowered mc's who can easily do everything.

I'm going to make a couple of guesses here.

I think the person who might be waking up is the entity providing the voice of Sapo-Chan.

Based on the word "again" this is either some kind of time loop/past regression phenomenon, or Hibiki has been reincarnated. It sounded like some kind of time loop thing to me. Like, the whole world has been Re:Zeroed but the God of Knowledge still has his memories.

BTW - I think the reason that the humor of this show works as well as it does is because the faces of the characters are so expressive. It's like their illustrated eyes have souls, and it maxes the effectiveness of all the well-timed mugging.

Hibiki really makes the worst possible decision most of the time. His overpowered skills and abilities keep him alive but even then he still regularly makes things very difficult for himself. So bad in fact that even the chief god could not fully bail him out this time and miss evil god(?) is seemingly awake now. She might erase the world or not, only one episode left.

I'm still thinking that the apocalypse loli is connected to Sapo-chan, though I'm not sure what makes me think that. I think I have some vague memory of seeing the top of a little brunette skull sometimes bobbing around bottom frame while Sapo-chan is talking?

But maybe not.

I am curious why the God of Knowledge thinks there's some kind of bond between Hibiki and apocalypse loli. I wonder if it's genetic, and that's why Hibiki looks like a fourth grader even though he's apparently an adult.

Also curious about how Emilia is going to wind up playing a part since I saw her in the preview.

It's because in previous shots the character designs looked similar, but this episode we get solid views of the two and they are not that similar. In terms of connection, we see that Apoco-chan looks like Fem-Hibiki but not sure if that is intended as a clue or is a vagary of the artist. I also thought for a while she or sapo-chan were Hibiki's female classmate but there are some differences in designs there too, so I doubt it now. We at least get confirmation that the Opener shows sapo-chan.

Apoco-chan likely was the person reflected in Ivell-chan's mirror, so I expect we will see what attacking Claude and "corrupting the soul" of his former party mate were about. We still don't know what the Sages and Terra Dynas (Latin: Queen's Land), a realm of an un-named entity where the Chief God has no influence is about. Lots of loose ends for Ep12....

Crack Theory Incoming: Ep11 here we have the energy of "Seals of Reincarnation" being used to fuel escape from a Teleportation Trap when Hibiki disappears. By thier names I'd guess they are magic "components" that enable or accompany reincarnation, which might mean either he has been returned to our world or his reincarnation has never happened. In fact, what we see of how that transpired, I think he was not really reincarnated in the first place but he and his companions were abducted from our world and Chief God arranged for these components to be "installed" to allow them to exist in the fantasy world. The teleportation trap might have been set to send him to Apoco-chan. Thus, there could be a time-universe paradox created where Apoco-chan is a (female) version of Hibiki transported from an alternate reality at the moment of his original "reincarnation" as a result and has been in Chief God's keeping since. The universe would end if she and Hibiki were to meet, assuming the author had heard of particle-antiparticle annihilation. Thinking that way, the entity in Terra Dynas might be the "Chief Anti-God" who might have been responsible for the original abduction to "mess with" Chief God...

BTW, I hadn't thought about it before, but there have been two other "appraisal" anime in the last couple of years...

That was a solid finale in that it concluded the situation in a satisfying manner and provided some answers while adding plenty of mysteries to the pile for a possible second season (unlikely). The fight between Hibiki and Iver was fun, I especially like Sapo-chan being quite the schemer, her making use of the tutorial ability to summon Emilia was great. Emilia now guiding Hibiki's friends to find him is a fun development.

The 12th god theory ended up being right, sadly we got almost no answers as to the connection between her and Hibiki. For now she is sleeping again.

It was a fun show, I would struggle to call it more than decent but it was plenty amusing.

Me, I discovered at least two things this season. One is that a number somewhere around 15 shows a season seems to be my limit whether because of scheduling or energy or whatever. Even during really good seasons, I usually wind up watching between 14 to less than 20 shows when all is said and done, even if some of the shows I drop aren't bad per se or shows that I would watch during a less loaded season.

By way of example, I would have watched The Food Diary of Miss Maid and Even A Replica Can Fall in Love and Agents of the Four Seasons regularly during a slimmer season, and I still hope to binge finish them during the season break.

The other thing I discovered is that as long as I have one show that I genuinely like a day, they don't need to be awesome Grade A+ hits for me to be happy with the season. At the end of that day, I'm just looking to crash and blow off a little stress.

I mention all of this because I don't know that I enjoyed any of the shows I watched this season as much as I enjoyed any one of my top five shows last season - Kirio's Fan Club and Daemon's of the Shadow Realm have come the closest, and I'm watching the dubbed version of the latter two weeks behind everybody else.

But I've enjoyed this season just fine. This show is one of the ones I legitimately enjoyed every Saturday though I might come off sounding crueler than that if I tried to give it an objective grade. So, I won't. It was good natured, had good comedic timing, and didn't take itself very seriously at all, which helped. I'll just hope this is one of those shows where they set off to make a double cours from the get-go.
