Now they even made the little mermaid an isekai? Is there maybe something cultural I'm missing that explains the apparently limitless appeal of this idea? I've certainly seen some fads in western media, but nothing I can think of was near the scale or longevity of this "isekai all the things!" phenomenon. About the closest I can think of is how zombie stuff has had a sort of cyclical boom and bust presence in western games and tv.

Did Koide elaborate which studios he proposed the concept to?
What was the animation process for the project? I know that hand painted backgrounds was mentioned. |
