First off, I wanna say that this is now one of my favorite animes. I can't believe how addicted to it I am now. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good anime to watch, it has a mix of everything: comedy, action, romance, magic girl, fantasy. I have also heard that Harry Potter fans would like it. I kinda wanted to know what everyone else thought of it and also if and when it would be released in the US, hence why I started this topic, so if you have an opinion on this anime or know anything about a possibility of it being released in the US sometime in the near future PLEASE POST!

I believe the license was held by Geneon, but they went under. I think it'd be a great title for something like Right Stuf or Media Blasters to pick up and do their normal thing of boxsetting it, sans dub, for a reasonable price. I'm sure enough people would buy into it.

Other than that, the first season is fun and cute but derails in the second season terribly. Here's to hoping the third season gets better.

Man, I really hope they do pick it up. Just out of curiosity, why do you think it derailed so much in the second season?

It did the usual "all romance between the main leads goes back to ground zero" for one. And then CONSTANTLY did that same thing through out the second season as well: They finally understand eachother, grow to respect and finally admit their feelings, he stares at some woman's breasts and she beats the hell out of him. Every damn episode.

The plot continued forward while the characters refused to leave their starting point. Second season was disappointing.

Agreed, they really need to straighten that thing out. The first season was great though, they need more of that.

They spent an inordinate amount of time on a subplot involving a new character that wasn't that interesting or well done and the little time spent on Saitou and Louise was not well spent. Most of the secondary cast from the previous season was shoved to the side and barely remembered, and again, the time they did get was not particularly good.

The series keeps trying to have a plot and be serious, but those episodes are generally rather dull and punctuated by out of place random fanservice or hurt by poor budget or direction. The series can't decided what it wants to be and generally does a significantly worse job on the more serious aspects. The last episode or two were actually pretty good though they did have some issues.

saito needs to go back to how is charactor was in the first season. luise needs to stop being such a princess and whacking him or punishing him at everything he does , seriously how many men out there would tolerate that for long? spoiler[ i wonder how they going to write off the marraige scene?]

They do have growth, but for comedy reasons it seems to get reverted at times. Their relationship seems to be a "two steps forward and one step back" at just about every turn. As to the spoiler[ marriage, I don't really see an issue with it. It may get an undertone of having less meaning as the anime deals a lot with status, so it could be played out that way. It could go just the opposite as well. As to "would any man allow such things"? I'm sure there are, but also keep in mind he is by all rights a slave and only a familiar in a world he does not truly know nor yet understand. So it isn't really like he has much choice. Least he doesn't have to sleep on the floor anymore. ]

This series has a lot of potential, but the second season was disappointing. I just hope the upcoming third season will show a better storyline.

im hoping this one gets brought over i liked it. The right amount of comedy and some action plus the perverted antics are funny-if they do bring it over they should just sell it as a box set i don't think singles would do too well considering its shortness

The thing that I hated about season 2 was the mere fact that it was still called Zero no Tsukaima, when the spoiler[Zero element magic was virtually non-existent in season 2's plot; it just had this ridiculous meandering between Louise and Saito, that stupid maid showing up with her large breasts (of course nothing else about her matters but her breasts; well, that's the impression you'd get from the second season) - hell, even royalty was showing a bare bust in this anime. The tore Saito's character down into a horn-dog, made every female support character a whore (sorry for the language if anyone is offended, but I can't think of another word that fits) and louise some kind of bdsm freak. The only character that I continued to like was Saito's sword! T.T And the end was pure bullocks, deus ex machina much? "I was saved by a fairy" NO.]

Rant over, but really, they took a good concept and completely destroyed it.

i disagree though it does seem that saito notices brests more there is a reason for that he's traped in a fantasy world cut off from his home. he's a little out of place seeking comford. Also since Louis does use her void magic a lot in the series most of its comiedic episodes missunderstandings that cause saito to be wiped
