Recently I've heard that anime was being aired on MTV-2. So I checked out MTV today and it was on. They played Episode -1 and 2 of Heatguy J on MTV today from 6 to 7 PM. I like the show very much. The background music is better than usual and the art is very good. Everyone should check it out. Also, on MTV-2, Heatguy-J comes on at noon on saturdays. Alos it looks like they didn't edit a thing in it. They curse and show blood. So, everyone should check it out.

If MTV is airing what they aired on MTV2, then they're editing it for time.

If I remember right, they're also airing episodes out of order. So...no go for me. I think I'll wait & rent the DVDs or something.

I didn't know they aired them out of order. That isn't good. Why would they do that when it has a story to follow.

Yeah, so far they've shown 1, 2, 5, and 4 in that order. Anyone know what next week's episode is?

I was channel flipping when I saw Heat Guy J on MTV. It looks good, but I didn't finish the episode...but hey, I do have MTV 2, so I'll be watching it in the near future... Smile

Shoot, the site I was checking for the lineup didn't seem to realize that they're showing these out of order and just guessed on the 4th episode being episode 4. It wasn't episode 4 this past weekend, it was episode 6, Money. For now they've skipped 3 and 4 outright.

I liked what I saw of it, but, I didn't really see enough of it to get into it (1 and half episodes), but, as of right now, not something that I'm going to get right away.

Heatguy J is on MTV2 on Sunday @ 6pm. Last weekend they aired episodes 1 and 2 in order. The dubbing was surprisingly good. The storyline is somewhat predictable and thus far the character designs, backgrounds and animation is what is keeping my interest. For those of you who think you might recognize the character designs, think back to Escaflowne the Movie and notice the eyes and nose? The very talented Nobuteru Yuki did the character designs. You can see his skill really evolved since Lodoss Wars OVA, GUNNM, Weathering Continent, Escaflowne Movie, et al. IMO Heatguy J appears to use cel animation, but without doublechecking the credits and which studios worked on the series I cannot know for certain. Does anyone here have cels from this series or even gengas? Thanks! Overall, I will tune in next week to see if they air the episodes out of order as others mentioned. Wink

Im surprised none of you noticed the aspect ratio was left in animorphic form. In other words if your viewing it full screen, it's really fubard. A bonus if you have a widescreen tv or widescreen enhanced mode on your tv though.

The intro was trashed, they cut up and edited together a "this is the future, im the only legal robot in exhistance, im heat guy j, blah blah blah" which was dumb. The dub dosnt seem bad, J's voice is surprisingly matched to his japanese counter part. Can't comment on the accuracy of translation though. It's a good dvd buy though, especialy since the fansub was never finished.. so im left waiting for the dvd to finish it. ^^

My friend called me up and told me that Heat Guy J was on, and so I turned to the channel and I saw pretty much all of it, but really I found it pretty boring...maybe it was because of the art-work...oh well I'll still watch Anime smile;

No actually I did notice the aspect ratio of it. I just already explained it in another thread. Very Happy

Didn't really quite catch my interest either, but, I'll give it it another chance later, but, as of right now, it seems kind of blah like.
