It seems that more real life people are being made into anime. Like the other singers, I forgot their names.

t.A.T.u. is who you're thinking of, and this isn't anime.

Do ya hear that 4kids.
Just wondering is this show Japanese or is it some thing CN just threw together (in other words, Anime inspired... Like two of my fave, but-still-trying-way-too-hard, non-anime series: Teen Titans and Totally Spies) |

Wierd. Besides, Puffy's popularity have been going downhill for a few years in Japan. I only see them in some variety shows these days...

Being that it is a 'New Show', and not an 'Acqusition', I'm guessing that this is produced in the US? I know that they spend as much time here as Hikki does...

It's a US/Japan co-production. I haven't been able to find out which side is responsible for the actual show, but I'm going to guess Japan with a target OSL of English

Ok, it is airing now, what do you guys think of it?
Yumi has a voice that sounds similar to Mandy in Grim's Adventures of Billy and Mandy --EDIT-- It happens to be a coproduction of Renegade Animation and the Cartoon Network. |

My God, that may be one of the most addictive theme songs I've ever heard.
The show has a decent website at http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/puffyamiyumi/ The opening is on there in the video section. |

i wonder how much actual input they had in the production, cause it's way too much like everything else cartoon network shows. for a cartoon about J pop stars, it's too american.

It was made By Americans, For Americans. "Too American" isn't really an insult in this case. |

The show's not bad. It speaks to the 12yo girl audience obviously, but it's watchable.
I think the voice actors are the same two that do starfire and raven from teen titans. |

It's not. Sounds a lot like it though
Ami's VA does Jenny on "My Life as a Teenage Robot." Yumi's does Vicky on "Fairly Oddparents." |

I'm not sure if Cartoon Network is doing the right thing... Rhey are putting on less anime and more "trying to be anime" shows...

yeah that's true, but they could give it a little more enviorment or something. it feels too much like every other cartoon, nothing really stands out. |
