When MTV was still doing liquid television, they had a cartoon that was anime that wasn't a series just had one show. It was narrarated by a private dectitive, like a noir style, and it was about hovercraft racing on a vertical walled circular track. The guy that always wins did so by destroying the other racers hovercrafts with his mind, but he starts to go insane on the track after doing it for years. I've looked for a while for this anime, heard it was called running man, never found it, also heard it was by the robotech people, that didn't help either. I can't seem to find anyone that knows about it. I was at a techno concert once and saw it on the big screens there too, had some added stuff, apparently MTV cut out some stuff, who'd a thought. Any way any help would be great.

Well I searched their site no luck, I guess they haven't done anything with it yet. All I could find in the online anime stores was this poster.

yes after someone put up the directors name I found the same thing, 46 bucks is a bit pricey, but no telling if anything better will come along, it has been a while already. Thanks everyone for the help.

well he said "Please note: I only sell factory made DVD discs, not home made copies. My Discs are 100% Compatible with all DVD players". Which sounds good to me. But also if the company sits on its thumbs for to long to release it then the money will go elsewhere, its isn't like the 80's and E.T. Now days people can get what they want, so if this is, and they don't have a "real" copy out on DVD, then its their fault. And if I find the quality is lacking and they do sooner or later come out with a factory copy, then I'll get it also, but just remember you can't have an "original copy".

Yeah, I've seen that disclaimer before. It just means mass produced bootlegs. I'm 99% certain of where the seller is from, and they sell a lot of bootleg anime in those 3 disk sets for 26 episodes. It's a shame really. If you want quality, you aren't gonna find it there. As far as people getting what they want? Why does that constantly remind me of how spoiled rotten people really are? It's as if people think they have the right to obtain whatever they want. Ethics, morals, and legality be damned if they get in the way, right?
Sigh... remember how privileged we are, rather than demanding anime as a right. |

That last part brought a tear to my eye Ya your very right and I agree but then again what if they dont release a DVD for another 5 years if ever? Im sure he wants to support those that made tha movie but sometimes we have no other means but that in-which, as a last resort, we must make a choice to either hold out on hope or just go for it and view something we long for and obviously love which is far more important than money. Sometimes tha worlds not perfect and things dont work out.

Oh, I know the world is far from perfect, and that's why I think we have far greater worries than if title "X" is coming out as a DVD in 5 years, 10 years, or never.
Considering the world around us, the impovershed, the addicts, the homeless, the abused, and everything else, it just seems petty to complain, when we have far more to be thankful for. |

Well NeoTokyo is out a legit R2 DVD.
I know, I have it. It also has the English dialogue tracks available for all you dub luvin yung 'uns. Actually there's a super sweet version avail too with a nice art book and a plastic dust jacket. Similar to the Robot Carnival LTD box set. See the problem isn't that stuff isn't available legit, quite frankly. It's that people are either: a.) too cheap b.) ignorant of the fact that amazon.co.jp exists and you can buy stuff there c.) unwilling/unable to buy R2 compatible DVD players d.) not hardcore enough to learn Japanese (before you get your pants/panties in a bunch, I'm joking...though I learned Japanese specifically to enjoy more anime/video games/manga and not allow people to make decisions about what I could watch/read for me) e.) just plain lame j |
