there's been a lot of talk about Gintama ending in the spring, and this just further solidifies the rumor.

Probably not getting paid what he's worth on the show.

I'm a big Gintama fan, and I hope that the show ends on a bang, at least. And that Sorachi gives his manga a proper conclusion, since the anime can't.

The more popular and bigger the show is, the more conflicts and arguements are bound to happen. I am surprized this didn't happen after the show became quite popular.

Wage problems, personal problems and personality issues are common in these types of situtions.

Actually, considering the kind of series Gin Tama is like, it's actually appropriate for the guy to just leave like that. Laughing

Hmm....The way the interview excerpt makes it sound....I'm not sure whether this is really 'news' or not. I mean Gintama's ENDING this spring. So technically, even if he is enthusiastic about continuing the series, he'd be out of work anyway. I think that's just Sunrise's joking way of saying that Gintama's done. They pretty much put on the Yoshiwara trailer that the arc is 'part two of the final season.'

Unless, they had a meeting about it, and want to continue Gintama past this season, and Fujita decided that he had enough of directing it? Then this would make more sense. But as is, it seems to be stating the obvious.

Laughing I just bought Volume 5 of the manga yesterday, and:

Kagura: "Gin, my head feels like it's going to explode, like BANG....help!"
Gin: "Hey! An innocent girl's head is about to explode! Is that okay with you? This manga will end right here, you jerks!"
Okita: "Fine. Next week, we'll start the manga "Shinsengumi: Wind of Blood Chronicles"! Don't miss it!"
Shinpachi: "Uh, so we're going to die, huh?"

So at the end of ep. 144, they talk about Japan needing to use digital tuners in a couple of years, and the seiyuu for Gin Toki says, "This show won't be around by 2011".
