I am looking for any info on the new Ghost in the Shell movie. Mainly the release date in the US. Any websites would be helpful.

If it's anything like the TV series, then yes. I've seen the trailers for Innocence and it looks quite good. |

I recently returned from Japan where I saw Innocence. In some ways it harkens to the GITS film and in other ways it breaks new ground.
Overall, I liked it. There were some narraitve devices/story elements I didn't care for in it as well as elements I thought were very strong. Overall visually a stunning work. I'm def gonna get the ltd box set when it comes out over seas... BTW it's nothing at all like the series. j |

Yeah it is nothing like the series asspoiler[ the main character of the series and the first movie, Major Motoko Kusanagi isn't the main character of the movie, she only has a brief cameo.] |

Although I was a little disappointed by what I read in the review here(About Kusanagi Motoko), but I'm going to watch it, none the less.

Well it would be weird to bring her back anyway, since this is back to the original GITS universe, where she is now the fusion of Motoko and Project 2501 (a.k.a. the puppetmaster). |
