haven't seen a thread for this manga yet. what do you guys think about it?
just saw the video trailer for it on sig ikki and was really impressed. wanted to get some feedback on what you guys think |

Children of the Sea is one of the best manga legally available in English, easy. It's far more accessible than Daisuke Igarashi's Witches (heavily mythological, well-researched tales), so it's probably the smarter choice for Viz to start off there. Haven't read beyond the first volume, but what I've read about later developments seems to indicate that it really delves into the type of material and layered, art-based storytelling that made Witches a masterpiece.

Got this in the mail yesterday, and I am currently about halfway through the first volume. I am really, really liking it thus far. I love how Igarashi lets his gorgeous art do most of the talking. Not to mention it is a very nice blend of realism and the fantastic. Reminds me of Me and the Devil Blues, which takes a similar approach.
