Why is School Rumble not in major bookstores any more?

I have been in several book stores in my area (Austin) and noticed that both Barnes & Noble and Borders no longer carry the most recent (or sometimes any) volume of School Rumble (which just happens to be my personal favorite series).

Are they having production issues, licencing snafus, or what? Also is vol. 13 out in the USA yet?

Releasedate for volume 13 I got from the database: 2009-09-29

Tokyopop's monthly output has gone down considerably and some series where downright cancelled. They upped their prices and switched to extremely crappy paper for a while. So yeah, Tokyopop is in trouble.

Shelf space in stores is limited, so if a series doesn't well wel enough it is removed from the shelves and replaced with something that will hopefully sell better.

Edit: ignore the second paragraph.

Isn't School Rumble a Del Rey title? Mind you, they've slowed their releases right down too.

Whoops, you're right. Tokyopop Deutshland has the School Rumble license, while Tokyopop doesn't. Right publisher (kinda), wrong country ~_~
