I found 2 different box sets for Lucky Star...

Hmm... that second one from <removed> looks like a Chinese bootleg. Usually if a DVD is all regions free and 24+ episodes on only 3 disc (8 - 9 episodes a disc), it's usually a copy or bootleg.

Off the top of my head, normally its 2 to 4 episodes for disc in Japan and 4 - 7 episodes for Western releases in the US and UK; depending on the series length and/or popularity. And the DVDs tend to be region locked too.

I have been watching for a box set of this to come out. I've already seen it all I just want it in my collection so I have been willing to wait.

However I won't buy a bootleg. If that lower price is legit and it is the same DVDs that's what I will go for. Can someone here at ANN help out?

Good observation, though why would it be slated to be released in about 2 years? That makes no sense to me...

It does a little bit if you think about how long it might take them to get the US release, decode it, rip it, edit and compress it on 3 dvds from 5 - 7 disc, new box art (probably more illegal scans), then production of thousands of those things. etc etc. But I don't know really. They probably don't really know when the bootleg will come out so they put a realistic date on it. In the end they just want your pre-order money.

Just get the legit one for rightstuf. That's still pretty cheap as far as boxsets go now a days. Even Best Buy sells it at around $35. That kind of range is just like the good old days when individual dvds sold well enough that they could put out a cheaper boxset for those who waited or casual fans looking for good deals.

Seems it's subbed only. Good. I dislike most dubs, especially when it comes to KyoAni/Kadokawa productions. I can't stand hearing Konata or Haruhi by anyone except Hirano Aya.

Best Buy has never been great with accuracy for anime in its summaries and whatnot. I mean for a while, they kept calling the 2nd printing of the Godannar Boxset "Godannar 2" making it seem like their was this third season or another 26 series no one had ever heard of. If the individual DVDs had an english track on it, then this will too since its just a collection of those disc or a slight compression minus all the ads on the original single disc releases. I actually plan to pick this up this weekend so I'll let you know what the details are. But if right stuf says its got both languages, its probably right.
