It has some similarities, but it isn't really that much like lupin.
It kind of looks like it should be a sequall to the thomas crown affair. On a critical note, it doesn't look like a good movie either. |

Lupin III was just following the "gentleman thief" template set out by Maurice Leblanc anyway.

They do have some similarities but that is all because they both follow the idea about the world’s greatest thief. It is the same as comparing a monster movie to Godzilla. They both fall into the same genre but that is about it.

In concept, I suppose, but not so much in execution. To describe it it would sound like a Lupin scenario, but the trailer just comes across as another jewl theif movie.
