I guess I'm glad that Sophia finally did something and helped save the day. I prefer when she's just casually and girlishly using her gorilla strength to her wallowing in her insecurities and self-doubt (which can be a bit much).
She really poured her heart out and feelings for Louis to that squirrel. Though it's eye colors feel familiar...
I can't say I expected the bully group to turn into Sophia's girl posse, that hardly ever happens, but I guess this is a good development? Sophia finally has gal pals just as she's realized her feelings for Louis and he's keeping his distance from her. Guess it evens out.

Yeah, he's not a candidate for membership in Sophia's harem. My read is that his intentions are entirely dishonorable... I mean, he's in Carissa's circle for heavens sake. |
Yep, the tongue click and turn away when the plot was foiled... Leonhart is in this up to his neck.

Rebecca is very generous with her assessment of Sophia, in particular her stepping up when dealing with the bomb which I personally interpreted far less generously. Rebecca has the advantage of knowing where the story is going, and as such has a firmer mental image of what the show intends. Instead we the viewers deal with what the show is actually providing, though no shame in that incongruity, its to be expected from the difference of book readers over general viewers.
Though I likely would only suspect about the squirrel from the actions of this episode rather then already have the expectation that yes its the prefect, thats already been confirmed to us.

I don't, actually - we're past what I've read of the source material, which is the chapters released on kindle. I assume there are more chapters on the app translating it, but I don't have it. I think it comes more down to me really empathizing with Sophia as a shy person myself; I absolutely would stay quiet as long as possible and not go back to the party unless something happened to make me have to act. (Or at least, that's how I would have acted in high school.)

She didn't just send the door off the box as I was expecting, she made the box explode into little pieces
I'm no bomb technician, but it seems like she could have just stopped it by holding or breaking that clock hand...
I'm sure it was just from panicking, but trying to hold in the explosion wasn't what I would have thought would be an option she would choose.
I definitely didn't pick up on that squirrel connection... I thought she was just starting to have a Disney princess thing going on :lol

I don't think Louis is simply listening through the squirrel familiar, I think he's actually able to influence it to some extent. Your average random squirrel wouldn't have panicked and tried to grab the clock hands on the bomb like that.
Also, I may have missed it, but did she actually tell anyone that she left two tied-up bombers on the third floor of the old school building? I don't recall any of the knights rushing off to apprehend them like you'd expect, and they were out of sight for quite a while.

I really thought they were going to drag out Louis' true identity for a few more episodes so I found it really refreshing that not only did they reveal it but they also even had a confession! We're only midway into the series!
(Although imagine physical intimacy between a gorilla and a squirrel...)
I want to believe that being with Louis will help boost Sophia's confidence but I can't help but be worried we're going to get several episodes of her being an insecure girlfriend. Though more than anything I just want to see them kiss.

Is this still a harem show? I think Isaac and Eddy are just her buddies. Neither show much interest in her beyond that; They're close friends but no more than that, and I don't see any indication the guys are into her. And she is pretty clearly just into Louis. I mean i have hot female friends that are just my friends, I don't think them being attractive necessarily makes it a Harem thing.
Also I like that Issac was the one who got freezing cold; Anyone who has cats knows how they react in cold weather, so this makes perfect sense.
Also I know i have said this twice but I'll say it again; Gorilla best character.

I'm not sure it ever was a harem show, thinking back on it. But it definitely isn't now, I agree.

Ha ha, my dog will voluntarily constipate himself if it's cold out so that he doesn't have to go outside. He tries the same thing if it's raining.

I live in Sydney Australia, so for me 'Cold' is very much relative to what a lot of y'all experience, but my cats snuggle to us if there's a stiff breeze.

At least the character format is harem show adjacent, but with a central lead pairing. In the 90's and 2000's main pair was rather common, With characters like Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess!, Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi and Naru from Love Hina which occupied the central romance while still surrounding the main character which a bunch of eligable and clearly interested secondary characters.
Its just these days Harem shows have moved more towards polygamy and a rather thirsty support cast, rather then politely interested friends who step over boundaries just a little to indicate their interests. That said the main confession didn't normally happen to much later so that is one argument against it. But it has not stopped the story writing all the secondary cast as shoujo harem arc-types.
If I was to categorise it based on this episode alone I would call it a teen romance with bishounen support cast hinting at a harem.
I have been adjusting my expectations for the show to a teen romance angle, its easier to get along with it with that mindset. Things that made me laugh: - Wily Coyote style 2 people falling off a sheer cliff into the clouds. - Shiny Abs.
EP 7
Well I do not really have to say much this episode. It just reinforced my description of this being a soft harem with a central romance. Even the wild boy is pining after our Gorilla Girl.

It's kind of funny how Sophia has so much Gorilla God rizz that she snags a boyfriend and still has a Harem despite that fact because the other boys in her life are oblivious she's off the market.
Poor Isaac getting friendzoned though. I guess it's better than an outright rejection that would have happened had he confessed (thank you headmaster) but he's doomed to be (wo)man's best friend.
Dang, a confession and a genuine kiss and it's not even the final episode! I also appreciate how honest and sincere Sophia and Louis are with each other in their relationship.

I'm not so sure about this. When Mr.Baddie Bad showed up I remembered the mention that there is one other blessing on the same level as the Gorilla God's, and I assume he has it (I'm guessing a lion or tiger or something) so doesn't need her powers. Although he may still be trying to take her out of the picture so there's no one who can stand up to him.

The most surprising thing in the episode to me was that the falling into a compromising position came after the kiss! I don't recall ever seeing that happen before.
Still every time such pratfalls occur, it always reminds me of this gem from Comical Psychosomatic Medicine:
