At present, Unit 05 is probably the most popular non-bedal mecha in current fandom, aside perhaps the brainchildren of Masamune Shirow. Though my opinion of it is undecided, its model would definitely stand out from its humanoid sisters on a laden shelf.
It seems one of the most striking features of these Unit 01 and 02 figures are their hinged feet. Having never seen the like before, those hinged feet do impress me. Though I can only conjecture as to its popularity with the manufacturers, I hope such a feature is commonplace amongst posable figures. The possibilities would be (nearly) endless! |
