How long does it take for an average anime opening or ending to become repetitve for you?
I almost always pay attention to them until after the first six or seven episodes, maybe longer if the music is good. I know these can be the most intriguing parts of an anime, but they soon get old enough that I have to push the Forward button, or just not pay attention to them. Sometimes an anime will include different openings and endings, which is kind of a nice way of adding variety. |

I skip them after the first episode regardless of whether they're good or not.

it really depends on how good they are. for example the current op and ed for reborn! are so good that i have been watching them every episode. but on other anime i sometimes just skip them most of the time especially when i Marathon through a series.

I usually tend to watch them once and then skip over them. Watching new stuff at this moment in time, due to having exams and so on I've taken to just skipping over the OPs/EDs from the start. Thanks to the internet I tend to have a short attention span to anime, and usually can only go two episodes before I need a brief return to the 'net. As such even the ~3 minutes saved by skipping an OP/ED can be important to me.
It's quite amusing, as most of the songs I like to listen to are anime OPs/EDs. In fact sometimes the way I decided whether I want to buy a series is to go onto youtube and hope they have the 1:30 OP up. Even if low in quality I use them to make a snap judgement about characters/tone etc. Despite this, usually by the time I reach youtube, I've already made my mind up and probably have the DVDs in the basket. However in the case of the first K-on series I watched the OP everytime, because I really liked the upbeat, cute song

Wow, I used to think that I'm the only one who watch openings just once. For a student who always have too many things to be made yesterday 3 minutes make a difference. The only exception were Dragon Ball GT that sounded awesome to me 10 years ago, and not long time ago Zoku Natsume yūjin-chō's opening, because... well, I don't know why, but I enjoyed it.

That depends on if they work or not. It's either skip completely after episode 1, or watch every time because it's good.

For me, I generally just watch the first one and skip the rest. However, if the song's good, I may watch a few more as the series progresses.
Except if it's the opening for Lucky Star, which I watch every single time. I don't think that opening will ever get boring. As for endings, pass. The only one which I enjoyed was from Misaki Chronicles. That song's catchy as hell and the opening is pretty fun to listen to as well. One of these damn days, we'll get full MP3s of them with our DVD purchases, though I won't be holding my breath for them anytime soon.

I like to mix it up. I'll usually watch the opening once for the first episode on a disk and then skip it for the rest.

Sometimes I don't even watch the OP/ED. If I like a show, I might watch the OP once, but for the most part, I just skip them. I also automatically skip them for any shonen series. If the music is really that good, I'll just get the single or the OST and listen to it while I do other stuff.

LOL, I'm weird! I watch the OP every sinnnnngle time unless I'm dying to know what's going to happen next or something and have to skip it. My friends have already informed me this is really strange, so yeah.
For the ED, it really depends. I'd say half the time I watch it, sometimes peeking through the credits to see if I can cross-reference any staff or cast names, that kinda thing, and sometimes just cause I'm bored, and half the time I skip it because...the ED isn't as entertaining as the OP? ...I don't skip next episode previews either...even when I'm watching the next episode. Add this to my tendency to not watch series until they've come out stateside or if I AM watching fansubs, miss a few weeks even on shows I really like, I get the feeling I'm a very patient kind of anime fan compared to most. ^^; |

After the first episode, I usually just push the Fast Forward button. However, it can get irritating if the series can have constant new OPs for a show 15 episodes and under (*coughs* Bakemonogatorii).

I used to skip certain EDs before, but now I watch OP and EDs every time. Even I don't like it, I'll let it play while I doze off. Though, most of the time there's some interesting animation in the OP so I'll be able to tune in at the right time thanks to the song if I find the OP to be boring.
EDs are for decompressing since they tend to be slow, moody pieces or just plain dull. I check out the main staff at times, but I usually know who's worked on what I'm watching since I have a habit of checking out the credits beforehand. |

I enjoyed the Bakemonogatari OP rotation, they were always well animated and usually catchy tunes. There was only one new OP per new character anyway, so it wasn't too obtrusive. Heck, even the generic OP with the staplers was awesome. Okay, okay, you got me... I'm a blatant Bakemonogatari fanboi. So shoot me. |
