*Spoiler* If you have not watched the series, then please dont look in this messege, but go see the series/movie! Its great;)

Hi everyone:) Im new!Very Happy

Im a total anime noob. Having discovered the delights of anime has been a hard process so far, but in short amounts of time, I have actually got to see a great deal of anime(I think) aswell as used a great deal of money;)

But I have to say that Cowboy Bebop has laid the biggest mark on me so far.

I thought Grave of the fireflies was very sad. I found Jin-Roh to be very depressing, but the end to Cowboy Bebop has left me numb.

First I saw the movie. Had it recommended, and since it was from the creators of Samurai Champloo(which I thought looked neat from what I had seen) then I thought about giving it a shot.
I liked the movie. It had this strange mood too it. Not a very involving or inspiring storyline. But the characters where really cool.

So when I moved on to the series and got my hands on a boxset a bought from an importshop(I live in scandinavia.... No one knows what anime is:-( ).
I have to say that the beginning felt slow and tedious. But around episode 10, when Edward joined the fray, it started picking up and I became instantly hooked on the series.

I saw the series one by one so I would have something to look forward too.

I saw the last episode last night and I have to say that... It just left me numb. Just numb. I just stared out in the air, looking at my TV/DVD.
I felt it was a very emotional ending. It really surprised me because Cowboy Bebop is full of goofy and wacky characters and it was a series that made me laugh and smile, and most of all, feel very entertained.

spoiler[But it really got to me. WOW! "bang" Spike says, and dies.
I feel cheated and depressed. How could it end that way?

So finally in the end, Faye showed feelings towards Spike, and what happened to Ein and Edward?

It was a really good ending. It must have been the directors intent to make the viewers feel sad, and I think it is very good, but im still very sad and would have wished that Spike didn't had to die.]

I must be a big wuss. Sigh.. Its not easy being an anime noob;)
I just wanted to share my little story with you, but also ask you a question; What did you think of Bebop as a hole?

I realise it is old. It has been maybe 6-7 years since it was released, but im so glad that I picked up this gem a series.

Sorry for my rambling english problems.Smile

That was one of my favorite parts in the whole series. I still go up to people and point my finger at them and then drop to the floor (it's fun, you should try it!). A lot of people like to believe that Spike comes back from the dead again but lets face it, he's dead.

And don't worry about your grammer. There's people on this site who are much worse than you.

Take that back! haha Razz Joking...

But really you need to use spoiler tags; giving away the end of any series is not cool. Could a moderator do it for him?

I didn't expect him spoiler[to die either,] since I watched almost no TV before getting into anime. I've also watched a lot of Disney stuff, and spoiler[their main character doesn't die], so I was surpirsed. Actually, I had to verify with my friends to see if it really did happen and I wasn't just misinterpreting something.

Does he/she need to use spoiler tags if he said that there were gonna be spoilers in the post? Especially since the a lot of the post was about the end.

Probably, I would think most people thought that the spoilers wouldn't be too severe. So yeah I would.

Hey, you fixed it. So there's nothing to worry about. Cool

I actually have a shirt that has the word "Bang." on it from a person who had made the shirt in homage to Cowboy Bebop.

I felt incredibly numb when I finished watching Bebop. I watched from "Mushroom Samba" to the end and then watched the second run of Bebop on Adult Swim and caught the eps that I missed so I saw the ending before any of the other "story line" eps. It was still a deeply moving ending. To this day, I cannot listen to the songs "Call Me Call Me" (that cute little Ein) or "Blue" without shedding a tear or two.

I watched Cowboy Bebop on Cartoon Network a few years ago and found it to be a pretty entertaining show. I wasn't particularly moved by the ending, though. spoiler[I think Spike was the best character in the show, but I wasn't really shocked or upset that he died in the end. I guess it was a good ending in that it was very predictable and had a real conclusion. I felt very little emotional attachment to the characters even though I'll admit that they were memorable and had distinct personalities.] I thought Cowboy Bebop was a very good action anime, but far from being a classic or a masterpiece, in my opinion.

Sorry about that. I forgot to add the spoiler tags and have fixed my original post. You should probably add some spoiler tags now also.
