Haku? Umm, no, he's not gay, at least I don't think soooo... But I bet plenty of yaoi-loving fangirls would disagree with me.

Well, I'm not sure either and I'm not a yaoi fangurl or sumthing but I think he is. I mean because he states(I don't have the manga nemore but....) that he didn't want to mark Zabuza's perfect body..... I may be over my own head but...

I think its definetly clear that Haku is strange indeed. I was just shocked as Naruto was to find this person wearing a pink komono and in love with Zabuza to be a guy. I don't know what it is, I try to think of him loving Zabuza like a father figure and Zabuza the same in the end, but things like the pink komono definetly made me think otherwise. I think Haku was definetly liking the guys....

*(pst, there's a manga forum for manga questions)

Haku could really go either way. On one hand he's dressed as a girl and picking flowers, on the other hand he doesn't actually do anything that can't be argued otherwise. He follows after Zabuza because he saved him and admires his strength, more like a father figure than anything, something that Zabuza didn't return until the end. Also, male assassins dressed as women is a somewhat common plot device in Japanese live action movies so I really just figured it was a throwback to that, not sure if it's really ment to be anything more than that.

No, I don't believe he's gay at all. He's just one of those characters like Okita-san from Peacemaker. I would agree with Vash, because I think Haku views Zabuza as more of a father-figure. About the kimono...isn't it more of a yukata?

I took me a while to figure out he was a dude too when I was reading it in Shonen Jump.

In Japan there is a term called Bishonin. I believe the literal translation means "Beautiful Man." It refers to any man that is so beautiful in appearence, that they could pass for being a woman. This may realte to the old Kabuki theatre days, in which like other old nations, men played all roles, including the ones of females. Even in moden day Japan, we can see this present when you look at people like Mana from the band Malice Mizer. He even wears skirts and dresses for their album covers and concerts.

Anyways, Haku is the character you are refering to. He is a Bishonin character. Haku is not gay at all. His love for Zabuza, is just an extreme example of the kind of love that Naruto has for Sasuke and Iruka. Zabuza is the only one who found any use in Haku, and for that, Haku loves Zabuza. He lives for Zabuza. It has nothing to do with romantic love, as much as it is a paternal love between them.
